RE: Bentley Bentayga - official
Discussion
The Bentley marketing people see that as aspirational I suppose, the whole advert is like a 20th century relic. Audi used a Quattro (the road version of the rally car) chasing a glider back in the 1980's, when it landed the punchline was the women driving handed the male glider pilot the in car phone and said "It's your mother calling" this is sort of reminiscent but weaker. (I couldn't find the Audi advert on youtube).

Scuse me, caring for the environment and being a car enthusiast are not incompatible. Just because you can drive a three-ton 12-cylinder SUV for the school-run and run a helicopter, bizjet etc for any journey over 30 miles or so doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea...
1 bln cars on the planet. Let us rest assured that it isn't the few chaps in £250k cars that are the issue. It is definitely not a good looking car. I had a look at the Bentley and Range Rover websites and decided that if I was in the position to choose between these two vehicles I would definitely buy the Range Rover.
To me it is just a more cohesive design inside and out. If I bought a Bentley it would be a real Bentley, a Continental T from the early 2000s.

Granted, but the carbon footprint per capita in this country remains high, with the wealthiest 1% contributing a disproportionate part thereof. Of course, CO2 isn't the whole story - but I look at the lifestyles of the type of people who would buy this monstrosity and cannot help but be repelled by their wanton profligacy.RoverP6B said:

Again, it's not an issue created by the small number of people at the top but the army of normal people.
People who single out minority groups as a cause to a social issue make me very uncomfortable.
Is this true!? £100k clock in a £160k car? fk me.

Machined from a choice of either rose or white gold, this puffed-up timepiece is automatically wound by a complicated high-precision winding system integrated into the car. Customers can also select a face made from either mother-of-pearl or black ebony, and it’s topped off with a total of eight diamond indexes.
What’s more, it can be all yours for an estimated cost of around £100,000, apparently. On top of the £160,200 you’ll have to fork out for the Bentayga itself, that is. That’s roughly 10 Ford Fiestas for the same price as one clock.

No idea but it seems logical to buy a normal Bentayga and then snap up one of the clocks when it crops on Ebay. https://www.hodinkee.com/blog/breitling-tourbillon...
What is interesting is not so much the sillyness of the option but the brand being used.

Brietling have had a connection to Bentley for a while now, producing special edition Bentley branded watches e.g. http://www.chrono24.co.uk/breitling/prices-for-for...
The clock itself is, if anything, worse than the exterior of the car, particularly the luminous hands paired with diamonds on the face

Why would you want it to spin? The whole thing is just a low rent publicity stunt to grab a couple of headlines.
