+1 also the funniest thing I've ever seen on PH - genuine LOL; as in I actually threw my head back and laughed loud enough to scare the cat!

I had one of these back in the day. I quite like it but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea ☕️!

Yes, it's a beast of a car. But looks rather awkward.

Not the only awkward looking S-Class coupe....

To be honest, I have a soft spot for 262 coupés... getmecoat

I'll also include the Mk 1 C70 coupé, which looks OK from behind but hasn't aged well at the front, but I kind of like it, especially in President's Skin Orange.

I suspect values of this may rise in a few years' time, but it's still an unloved vehicle for now.
Gorgeous car, perfectly proportioned. There's nothing wrong with the front!

You're right about them being unloved though. Very few cared-for examples remain, unfortunately.
I could quite happily have a T5 version of this..

After the handsome 4 door Rover 800 saloon, the 2 door coupé version always looked ill-proportioned to me. Still not as bad as the 5 door hatchback variant though.

I always thought they were a handsome old thing

I am sure a lot of peoples views of looks are 50 percent down to the badge, they would trundle round in a bog basic spec Audi A1 rather than a top end Skoda Superb, put an MG badge on a new Audi and they will declare it horrible, put the Audi badge back on and they will love it.
I never liked the Coupe. I owned 2 saloons and didn't mind the hatch version tbh. The Saloon was a decent looking car imo, better than 600.

I had an L reg one of these.

Initially quite an exciting thing to own with that 1.8 turbo and it's pop-up lights. But the angle that you arguably look at the most; the front three quarter view... It tricked your eye into thinking it was longer and more of a saloon than it actually was. Shame because from the side (and back) it was more resolved.

Women at work used to accuse me of being a Michael Knight wannabe, or worse just asked me if I'd brought my "penis car" that day.

Anyone nominated this grinning idiot of a bushpig yet? Not even the shark gills could disguise that huge kerb bashing front overhang.
Not understanding the Audi a5 bashing - a handsome car to my eyes (Not so the new one, mind)
Such a disappointment after the 406 Coupe, which was a great looking car. Another car I would've been happy to own tbh.

Nope, again its all in proportion and a trip to spec-savers is in order.....
Fantastic looking car, right out of its era that. Looks like a bigger 190e Coupe, which with a body kit on it was fantastic. I had a few as Matchbox cars hehe

I've had two both T5s , they need the later eggcrate grill and lights and need to be in dark colours otherwise the look MEH !

Just... no. Not even with all the JCW credibility.
The first time I saw one of these Mini Coupes I thought the greenhouse looked like a circumcised penis. Still do. Did anyone ask the question these answered?
I saw the JCW, and thought, as an American, JC Whitney.

I think he means that shape. It looks great in your photo, but other views (and to me, particularly the AMG with details like that lip spoiler), it's not so great (in my opinion, of course):

I guess most people don't spend that much time looking at or thinking of circumcised penises! biggrin

To be honest, I can't even see what you mean when I look at it now!

Someone said the E-Type coupe was an object lesson in how to ruin a beautiful car, but they linked to a 2+2 (A V12 at that, if I'm not mistaken), which does suffer some of the faults they listed, but the proper 2 seater coupe doesn't and is, in my view, much better looking than the convertible.

Leave the poor GT alone.

For me, a nicer looking car than the Brera
Same here.
yes

The GT has it all compared to the brera, better looks, nicer engines, and no opel parts either
I second/third/fourth etc these comments. Discreet on the road but better (looks more purposeful) in the flesh than in photographs. From chatting to Alfisti in the know I've heard it's a better drive than the Brera too - quite a bit lighter and (perhaps as a direct consequence) a more agile steer. It's the one recent Alfa I'd consider trading my 164 Cloverleaf for - but only for the V6 model, natch!

The Rolls-Royce Camargue was never a looker... Time has done nothing to diminish its ugliness.

Always thought that the Camargue could have been sorted, looks-wise, by some decently sized rear lights and rear wheels that were of an interesting alloy design, and twice the width?
A shame because otherwise I actually think the shape has become more.....er.....interesting.
Rig, now I've got that off my chest I'll just sit back and wait for the men with the rubber ambulance to arrive 😜
