Fear for your own personal safety? A B6 level armoured S-Class goes under the hammer in a few days... Guide price is £8-10k.

The armour plate will be irrelevant as bullets can get through the panel gaps.
Surely the market for this must be miniscule?.
Any oligarch will buy new meaning for the budget bargiste you are paying to haul around an extra half tonne of lead plating and inch thick glass.
Beware white Fiat Unos.

This e28 520 manual is so charming. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1985-BMW-520i-MANUAL-E2...

Nice car. Pity the seller favours caps lock and primary colours though.

If there was a poll for buyers looking for one just like that but who wouldn't consider that car for a microsecond, I wouldn't be surprised at the result. Do they not want to sell it? I guess not.

And this is his way of ensuring that he doesn't get a sniff! Genius really.

Red car icon in the idrive could be something as simple as the yearly MOT reminder has run out, but plates hidden so can’t check... It could also be something much worse! No mention of MOT in the ad.

I really don’t like the seat-back screens for the rear - much prefer my pre-facelift single central screen, but it’s the later idrive, so bluetooth phone & music are possible with a bit of work, while keeping the standard look. (I just have to live with a 6x cd changer - the humanity!)

I’ve got some spare v12 badges from mine if he wants them?

Jack Henry cars, fairly decent dealer as it goes, bought an S63 there in June, theyve been good with warranty claims even though im overseas.

On the bootlid Individual badge is the original L missing and replaced with a Halfords chrome L that's on the wonk? hehe

I suspect a Ferrari 456 might be cheaper to run than that. And even if it wasn't, at least it's not that.

Having followed owners tales of woe I find the idea of running a V8 or V12 E65 about as appealing as a case of the clap, but that thing takes it to a new level; that kind of badge nonsense is rarely seen outside Jaguar Owners Club circles!

It's back, and now £1k cheaper than when I nearly bought it.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202008192...

Any concerns about the seller to one side, I'm 90% confident the car is fine and a steal at that price. MB have history on record, and I've seen invoices from an independent and spoken to them, and they say the car is fine and was traded in because it was too much for the old boy. Factor in the cost of a service straight away and it's still cheap; if you're after one of these and local I'd go and look at it.

Or wait a year or two and buy mine.

Bloody useful too. I was being tempted by a 4.7 GTS in dark blue with cream interior (wibble). Car was known to need a subframe +.
There are indies (so I read) who sort that and rustproof the rest for a not inconsiderable sum although obviously less than main dealer!

So basically, the same as buying an Alfa... just an order of magnitude or two up! wink
I actually bought a 4.2 facelift recently. Despite the previous owner saying it only really needed an alignment (took that with a pinch of salt), its so far had two new wheels and tyres, a new nearside rear suspension kit, two new tie rods on the rear, and its throwing up a brake fluid warning light and the parking sensors don't work. Bloody lovely car though! rofl
