I bet that floorpan has the consistency of damp cardboard.
Wonder if Ratarossa knows about that one. He’s the guy who is doing up the abandoned BBi that was left for years

There was something decidedly odd about that one. A classic Italian car that was allegedly left open to the British elements for 10+ years without underseal etc., that was gathering piles of moss but had barely any structural rust at all...

It wouldn't shock me if it had been discovered in a storage unit somewhere, and moved to the driveway so he could 'discover' it for his YT channel.

Either way, an excellent cause to rebuild.

Not sure on that with all the leaves and moss hoovered out of the intakes etc. it’s doing well on his channel though, looking good

No the BB was legit -I knew it sat on the drive for years - then started to attract the wrong attention.

First I've heard of this 308 though

Agreed the BB was on Google street view for ages, I do think it is shame that he is fully restoring it, would have been nice to leave it in a more honest condition with fully sorted mechanicals.

The 512 BB was posted on the "Classics left to die\rotting" thread long before Ratarossa got involved with it. He's not had an update on it for a while now but made great progress taking it all to bits :-)

Yes I’ve followed it on his channel, very interesting. Wonder if he knows about this

Some more finds in a central London underground car park. Not abandoned abandoned more underused, let's say.

I wonder what the story with those is, I’ll say “shooting tigers” before somebody else does

There’s a lot of exotica with a thick layer of dust on at the prince park tower hotel in Tokyo too. “Shooting Tigers” too perhaps. Some properly priceless stuff there

It was collected this morning and will be delivered tomorrow. Managed to keep the transport cost down by sharing with a friend who needs a car moved from a similar part of the country.

My head is still spinning a bit and I still haven't told 'er indoors yet.

Back story: Spotted on this thread by a fellow petrolhead and P38 owner who knew I was sort of hankering after one. He mentioned it to me at a local car group that I organise. I said "I'll take a look" but wasn't really hopeful as it was on the "Abandoned cars" thread. Had a look and friend convinced me that it was better than it looks. It seemed to be local to us as "Valley Windows" sign written on the van parked next to it in the pic suggested it was in the Welsh Valleys. WRONG!

Friend then tracked down the pub that was advertised on the back and convinced me to ring the pub. It was in Wigan, 200 miles away from Cardiff. I figured it was only a phone call and would probably come to nothing. Spoke to Landlord of the pub who said he sold it. Oh well never mind. Then he told me he sold it to his "Boss" and gave me his number. I spoke to his "boss" who said he had sold it (oh well ... but wait) and bought it back as air suspension failed and he gave the guy his money back and the car had sat in the commercials yard since.
Did a bit of due diligence (MOT history etc) and asked owner if I could take a look at it and he said "help yourself".

Another car club mate was going from Cardiff up to Cheshire to look at a house so agreed to go with him and continue on to look at the RR last week. I spent an hour and a half looking over it and playing with it. Couldn't get underneath as didn't have a jack, it was on the bump stops and the tyres were flat. Checked they would hold air (yup) but the compressor I had wasn't great and the tyres hold a lot of air so unable to pump them all up.

Although unable to look underneath, the body looks in remarkably good condition, the inside is reasonable (headlining down but what's new there on a P38?) and the key was recognised (power pack deployed as battery flat obviously).

Unsurprisingly it wouldn't start but there are probably a couple of reasons for that which I won't go into here and will require checking out.

I decided it might be worth a punt if I could get it at the right price. After a chat with the owner a very generous (on his part) deal was agreed and I agreed to get it collected ASAP.

Today was collection. Tomorrow is delivery. I'm not quite sure how SWMBO will react but I'm guessing, based on past experience, it will be pretty much "OK". She's amazingly laid back usually, although I've never acquired a 2 tonne potential heap of trouble before when I don't even have a job. If I don't post for a while please send grapes.

If I survive I may start a thread on it.
Just as a follow up, chucked a new battery on it, turned the key and it started straight away. I almost fell over with shock.

Doubt he'd be interested in a rotten Pontiac Fiero with a body kit smile

I didn’t think the shape was right. Street view in 2010 shows the reg & a DVLA check confirmed my suspicion.

That Supersport is utterly delicious. They look fabulous in that colour.
