For the first time in 5 years I don’t own a w124 frown
Did I see that car parked up in Crail at the weekend?

Here's the car in question. Please, thread, save me from the trauma of dealing with the car buying public.

Recent work includes
• Full Suspension refresh (sept 17): New wishbones, tie rods, springs, steering damper, geometry. Total cost £1,997
• New thermostat, stat cover, new battery, gearbox mount, lubrication service
• Total cost £610
• Replace viscous fan, coupling, pulleys
• Remove, repair and repaint front wings and all bodywork
• Waxoil under car (176k miles)
• Total cost £3,162
• Full service
• New Hirschmann aerial
• Bits and bobs. Total cost £620
• New radiator, sunroof cassette, v-belt tensioner, water pump, various bits
• Total cost £2,251

180k miles. Pretty much everything has been done. Going to stick it on carandclassic for £4k. £3k to anyone on here.

Doesn't your S211 have the main battery under the boot floor? Would be easy to leave it in situ and have it to up without fuss...
Good idea, but only if you can leave it connected whilst engine on/ driving. Anyone know if this is possible?
Disconnecting/ connecting in the boot might be more of a faff than in the cabin.

There's a chap on this site (though very infrequent) that sounded very keen on the phone but getting here from pretty far down south was/is an issue.

Another email asking for a bit of detail from someone else who sounded keen but no reply.

A couple of gumtree messages with nothing but a price said, the most recent one isn't actually a piss take of an offer though so might just message him back and see what he says.

Lovely and a bit of a bargain by the sounds of it. Wonderful cars.

Do you have a multimeter? A little digging would probably tell you, I'd take a stab at it being absolutely fine.

Has cruise and cold aircon, not ice cold though but it does work. Never had a problem driving through France in the high 20s.

Also has the best stereo of any car I've ever been in (to my spec). Becker Traffic Pro, Alpine amp, Morel component speakers, Bazooka sub (trimmed in mushroom leather of course), Parrot phone unit, iphone cable. The ICE install alone cost me £2,300!

Needs a good home and I need it gone - it's too long to fit in my barn and the garage is full of other cars.

I don’t have a multimeter because electricity is like witchcraft to me and whatever reading came up would mean nothing to me!

What is the issue likely to be? And to cost to fix!

From memory (perhaps!) the manual gearbox in these and the 645 isn’t supposed to be that good?

Well it's smoking, so I guess you drive it until it's.terminal and swap whatever, or spend the purchase price and make it less smoky. It's.not wholly satisfactory...

That's a very good deal for someone. I hope it's sticking around the parish and might crop up again in the future with better timing for me. I'd love to own that.
