The REAL problem... rofl

So are mis-spaced number plates a gateway crime to further dastardly deeds?

This is only a real problem to a certain type of person.

Even the police turn a blind eye to it most of the time.

Who cares about some letters and numbers on strangers car FFS?
Do you think the police 'turn a blind eye' because they think it's ok and doesn't really matter? Or because they don't have the resources to deal with it?
But Plod don't always turn a blind eye do they, and rightly so.

Don't forget the infamous BIG BOL hehe the rather rotund fkwit pulled by....was it Humberside...female PW....ticketed for bdising his vile 'ego massaging plate' and given notice to comply with the law....just like everyone else.

Also, as previously posted there have been a number of local 'complaints' to Plod concerning similar illegal chavplating miscreants which as a result have recently been forced to comply with the law.......

MR SIMTH redcard

Shame on you both....forgiveness may come...in time. biggrin:

Yep, very seriously indeed.....biggrin:

But putting it into context, not seriously enough to be anywhere remotely near the required level of excessive narcissism, self importance, delusion, vanity or general knobbishness shown by illegal chavplaters who, as Jaguar S quite rightly points out, are prepared to constantly break the law to satisfy their own delusions of 'grandeur'....hehe
with your vast array of 'look at me' cars you never, ever drive 'enthusiastically' to satisfy your own personal selfish needs? Of course, you do man.

Get a grip.
You are missing the point! Completely different.

You say they are 'look at me cars'....I don't. All relative. I don't own them to receive attention and only for the pleasure of driving the cars themselves....and yes, enthusiasticly......is this not PH ffs?! driving

Anyway, I wasn't aware owning cars was a crime....unlike owning a bastardised illegal chavplate.

Get a grip.

I'm not making any links and what's speeding, modifying or illegal parking got to do with illegal numberplates or serious crime anyway?

The point is you have to be of a certain attitude of mind to display an illegal numberplate. That attitude confirms to me the Platee is either ignorant of the law or arrogant in thinking they can choose to disregard it if it suits them. What else can it be? Ignorance and arrogance - there's really nothing attractive in either especially when relating to facts defined in law.

Taking into consideration the expense of buying a plate with the intention of displaying it illegally in the first place and all the attendant disadvantages of risking random FPNs and MOT failures when done so somebody would logically only display a illegal plate if they place more value on satisfying their own vanity than they do on just complying with requirements and thereby avoiding all the potential hassle.

That is all. Unless you can prove me wrong... smile
You have a valid point regarding the law but, as I said, there are not many people who don't flout the law on a daily basis, speeding, parking, various aftermarket modifications all fall under the same banner. It is just that some on here, mostly those who have very little to do in life, (probably at that age/retired) turn into grumpy old people then inflect their holier-than-thou misery, in this case in a perfectly formed thread relating to totally insignificant things. The fact is they want to, it is their money to waste if there are repercussions and I really don't think it is any of your business to be honest.

Therefore unless you have moved out of your glass house and live in some alternate utopian world to the rest of us mere mortals, who occasionally just get things a bit sideways and backwards, I think you should practice some silence.

Live and let live, it'll lead to an extended life wink

Oh, right so, you own them because you want to and drive enthusiastically because you want to, therefore unlike someone who wants a private plate because, well you know, you're own personal need to flout the law both outweighs theirs and Justifies yours?

Yes, I see it more clearly now smile

It's not private plates that are the issue.

It's the chav plates you're so seemingly fond of that are the issue.

I was going to reply individually to these who responded to my post, but I just can't be bothered to argue about something that means so little to me.

I will leave the thread by just saying this:-

I find it strange that a grown man goes Manchester and in the course of his day actively makes a point of remembering or jotting down the numberplates and make of car of complete strangers with the intention of posting them on an Internet forum the next day (with snide comments attached)...

If you think that is normal rational behaviour, so be it. I do not. I think it's deeply weird.

Top comedy.

Perhaps you could provide an example of someone being busted by Plod for driving enthusiastically.

Remember, and to make it easier for you, enthusiastically does NOT automatically mean breaking the law.....whereas the chavplating miscreants we are referring to here are instantly law breakers...no question.

It really is as simple as that.....black and white....yes

Yes black. And white. The law is a curious thing, do you understand it in respect to motoring at all?

SP30, SP60.... read all about it

I am glad you can see the funny side, the fact is you, along with the rest of the saddo's in this thread are as much hypocrites as pedants. Someone breaking the law, as you put it with a certain plate is somehow justifiable, you driving above speed limits is just fine. I think you need to go back and evaluate your argument, it is full of holes.

In fact I'll bow out. I can't be bothered to argue with a bunch of sad bds who are disturbed by a few letters on a number plate. You are not petrol heads at all, just a bit weird.

BTW money doesn't exempt you from being a chav, have a little think of that before chucking your snobbery around.

Modern day train spotting... hehe
It really is, but with sneering condescension/hatred thrown in for good measure.
yes Exactly that. How else could you view anybody so overwhelmed by their own narcissistic self importance and delusions of grandeur that they are quite willing to break the law to attract attention to themselves by displaying a illegally formatted numberplate?

The illegal plate itself is almost immaterial - it's the fkck the law I'll do whatever I choose mindset the plate represents that's the real problem.
With respect I think you're over analysing, my own personal view is far more simplistic, basically I think they're just all a bit thick.

Yonex, I'd say most of us here just view this thread as a place to have a little chuckle about a bodged plate and see what someone created from the spacing, black caps, slogans, etc. It's no different from the threads on crappy parking, good plates, spotted supercars, dashcam videos, etc, and various users commenting on the content. Isn't that what this forum is for? To have a bit of fun alongside all the other serious stuff, proper car related talk, (endless "What Car" threads hehe ), etc? smile

Yes some users on here seem to take it far more seriously than others, but not all of us do - I don't. My comment reference the spelling of "Exsige" was a joke but I forgot to add the hehe smiley to reflect that.

I'm sure when I first joined PH nearly a decade ago in my early years on here one of my old cars ended up on the Badly Modified thread because someone objected purely to the set of Morette Headlights that were fitted. I thought it was funny, especially as they thought the rest of the car was fine (which was weird considering the car also had a mild bodykit / flushed bodywork, etc hehe), I didn't take any offence or flounce / rant, but just had a chuckle on the thread about it. smile I'm sure I was also nominated on the, now long dead / banned, Cringe thread once and had a laugh about that as well - it's not serious, just a bit of fun smile

Personally I'm happy that people bodge the plates as otherwise this thread wouldn't have existed in one form or another for the best part of the last decade hehe I'm not sure why both sides of the argument take it so seriously? The intention behind the original thread from many years ago was, like the Real Good thread, just to post pictures and have a chuckle at what had been created, not turn it into a massive debate over legalities, etc, which is what it always seems to come down to nowadays frown

And from another thread on here - yes the spacing is wrong but, given the car, this one did make me smile hehe

Please feel free to quote where I said I exceed the speed limit. Your words not mine. readit

So lets just get this straight.......what you are basically saying is that anyone not just owning a FAST car but merely a vehicle that can exceed the speed limit is guilty of a crime. rofl

Wow. I would suggest you spend some time away from the crackpipe.

Probably the most ridiculous statement on PH this year. hehe

No, I am saying that instead of being such a beard about other people's choices you should live and let live.

A difficult concept obviously.

Only on closed roads or track.

Do you still display your chavplate?
