Because my driving improved so much last year the owner John gave me the chance to drive his own full blown race prepared Ascari at no expense to me but great risk to him. Which was awesome & I couldn't stop grining from ear to ear.
Oh.

I'm actually embarrassed for them.
Can this company (SCL/Supercarlifestyle/SuperCarLifestyle) be anymore unprofessional??

This thread sums up why I love PH. Supercar Lifestyle have dug themselves into a hole, and all these new members popping up with obvious plugs are not helping. I'm off to grab some popcorn

I do not work for Supercar lifestyle !!! I own tvr body shop and take car of there cars !! All Supercar have done is offered all entrants a chance of a days tuition as long as you pay for the insurance , I think the prize should have been quoted different yes , but your calling them for giving something away !! How terribly British , I've had tuition off Ian Ashley and its incredible
Taken from http://www.supercarlifestyle.co.uk/about-us.php

"In 2000 the original team that went on to form Supercar Lifestyle brought together their automotive passions. This included a wealth of expertise gained from tuning, engineering and running specialist paint shops including a restoration and classic car refurbishment body shop.

Dealing in all aspects of servicing, maintenance and repairs with a heavy involvement in TVR's, our main focus became high end supercars in which we now specialise. We soon realised there was a gap in the market for a private and exclusive supercar club, which not only supplies the supercars but also the lifestyle to go with them"

I'm guessing the TVR bodyshop bloke is someone else then?

This is staggering!

The initial situation was bad enough, but all the follow up lies and invented personas, it's genuinely unbelievable!

Classic example of people thinking they're smarter than everyone else, and it being irrefutably proven to be the exact opposite.

Possibly THE most unprofessional thing I've ever seen. eek

Kind regards Jon, you clearly have nothing better to do why not pop in to my work shop and say hello ask for Jon and that's me
Jon or John? I struggle to trust anyone who doesn't know what his own name is.

Unbelievable! I didn't actually think of checking anything as obvious as their own website.

So the only comments on this thread that defend supercar lifestyle's actions or are complimentary about their products appear to by people with interest in the business. And 'mark corrigan' - a new user who, rather curiously, appears to have joined PH specifically to praise the company (i have my suspicions about what the IP address of this user would tell us).

These attempts to subvert the discussion on this forum are outrageous and make the weak apology made seem completely hollow.

This thread delivers. SCL doesn't. Shocking way to run a business.

How to make a laughing stock of your own company in one thread laugh

Any other new members hiding in the wings ready to praise them but accidently drop a few more clangers?
You could'nt make it up really clap

I loves threads like this.

I'm also wondering how Mark Corrigan managed to get a 'space' in his username. I thought that was outlawed PH?

Unfortunately, whether SCL offers a good service or not is not the issue here for me. My job means that I have to be aware of the data protection laws and am bound to adhering to them strictly. In my case at least, and quite likely in others, they have broken the law by marketing to people who have asked not to be.

Unfortunately by their actions, SCL have brought both financial & reputational damage to Evo. They are also quite likely in breach of their contract with Evo if they have used information gained from their relationship inappropriately.

Hopefully Harry M can bring this to a satisfactory conclusion. Up until this point I have been completely dissatisfied by the responses from both Geoff Love and SCL.
I completely agree, this is a much more serious issue than just be a bit dodgy. So far, neither Evo or supercar lifestyle have addressed this.

...also, I see that Evo still seem to be running a lot of competitions so if they've not got to the bottom of this what's to stop it happening again?

Have you heard back from Harry yet?

I suspect this will just be forgotten and swept under the carpet.

Is there a company that has your personal details abused them in any way? While I'm not fussed about my email getting out, what other information do they have that they haven't looked after particularly well?

I'm not going to start defending them, but in all reality all they've done (and it now sounds like I'm defending them irked) is poorly judged how to run a competition which has included an element of alleged deceit. Fine. However, in context, 3rd world deaths, the state of the economy, life threatening ilnesses - who gives a darn.

If they've somehow sold your credit card details to naked Liberian terrorists then by all means take further issue with them. I'm guessing they haven't though.

That reply took up way too much of my day. I'm out.

Who knows what they've done with the data, thats kind of the point.

Re third world problems, I don't think anyone on here would argue with your viewpoint on that.
