NMC350L red 2 door Vauxhall Viva, passed my driving test in that one in 1983.
The memorable one for me though is AYU700H Rover P5B Coupe. As a kid I loved that car, V8 burble leather interior what wasn’t to like.

I can only remember 1 registration number from all my fathers cars. XCD 88 . A 1959 Jaguar Mk1 3.4. Would love to have that plate now, but DVLA not interested when I phoned them

Earliest I can remember....
HSY 835G Vauxhall Viva HB Red
OKN 905M Datsun 120Y Mustard
GJG 212N Datsun 140J Yellow
MKT 789R Datsun 120Y Turquoise
TVB 75T Datsun 120Y Yellow
BJJ 754V Datsun 140J Red

I got my first car then and started to forget the numbers but he continued with Datsuns and then went onto Vauxhalls. He basically bought from the same sales director what ever garage he ran.

I can’t recall any of my dad’s reg’ numbers (various Astra’s and Rover 214s mainly), the only other family number which is etched into my memory is my grandad’s cousin’s 1970 Rover P5B Coupe ‘JXC 868H’.

Only the two for each:

Dad:

I can remember the older cars - a H reg Volvo 740 estate (bought when I was 1) or a brown Talbot samba on a old-X plate, which overlapped for the first few years of my life. Ones I can are:

P228PGO - dark blue Volvo 850 2.5 20v with sand leather, owned from new - 2004
CL04CRL - Jaguar S-Type 2.5 Sport in green/sand leather owed from new - 2012, plate is now on his 318d

Mum:

R482VWC - silver mondeo estate, from new to 2006.
AV54LYX - silver Ford Fiesta 1.4 Zetec climate, scrapped a year or 2 ago now

I used to remember them all so this is an interesting indication of my memory loss

Dad

GBJ 604J - the unluckiest Zephr in the world
PPP 172M - Hillman Hunter DL

Then he had a succession of Cortinas in MKIII, IV and IV 80 versions none of which I remember

Mum

RAO ???R Fiat 126 (with full length sunroof)
BBJ 231Y Ford Fiesta Popular (Plus)

I'll give it a go...

D393 YSX - Blue Montego Estate VdP
F186 YSC - Grey Montego Estate (1.6L?)
G394 DSF - Red Nova Star
H876 OFS - Blue Cavalier 2.0i LS (company car iirc?)
J218 USF - White Cavalier 2.0 CDi
P554 KVP - Green Vectra 2.0 GLS
OE06 UWB - Blue Volvo V70 2.4D SE (my old car!)

I'm not going to list their current cars but prior to this lot there was also a T-reg Volvo 244 DL in mustard yellow, and a green Chrysler Alpine (that had alloys and a sunroof, so a Sunseeker?) - that's as far back as my memory goes. I know they did have an original VW Beetle in orange, and a BL Marina at some point as well.

My parents had a line of Rover products when I was growing up in the 90’s-it may or may not have influenced my choice of modern classic...

G888 MVV - Rover 214 Si in that weird silvery gold
M97 TBH - Rover 214 SEi in charcoal, a lovely colour and car. See my garage for the influence this had...
S633 DTM - Rover 200Vi in Flame Red; I’d dearly like to find a mint, low mile 200Vi for the fleet, so if by chance anyone knows of one!

All of the above sadly deceased now.

They then had a couple of 75 Connoisseurs, first a saloon (see my garage, again) and then a tourer; both on a private plate from new so unfortunately I can’t trace their whereabouts now. The tourer in particular was a very distinctive colour (Raven Black) and spec (Connie SE with literally every option) so I think if I saw it, I’d know it.

No idea after that, amongst them there was a R21 with F***YVH and a Peugeot 406 'KV51'.

Mum's cars:
MWT 836V Peugeot 104
A567NWT Talbot Samba
L319NUG Renault Clio

I can remember all mine but only one full reg of my wife's cars.
