W123. Proper interior. £1150 pre haggle.

Sweet mother of Jaysus.

Want.
It's in Cape Town and has 240,000 miles (presumably means KM).

I have wondered if there are Mercedes bargains to be had in SA mind you.
Interesting drive back. Makes Marbella look nearby and easy.

The Mrs and I did that a while ago. Takes 6 months at a comfortable pace smile

"No service history" Nice. There's no MoT over there either, which results in some proper grot boxes trundling around.

Love the red Jag. Someone who has one, tell me how good they are, just so I can feel sick and start obsessing about a V12 again.

Spotted this bargain below budget saloon. Very nice colours and half-decent specification. Looks like a bargain to me:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1990-MERCEDES-300E-24-AU...

Edit: the MOT history is a bit odd. Presumably a speedo change at some time. Plus one would hope that the work advised in 2013 has been done.

Utter bargain. Please buy it!
That's insane value!
800 quid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear god I'm almost tempted myself. A dealer will snap that up and have it up for £££££££££ smartish.
Someone has bid past the reserve. It's at £600 and the Buy It Now has gone. Why not? Why not? Why not?

Oh yes, because I have no money, not even £800, and because my wife will kill me.

Why didn't o***d (333) just buy it for £800 rather than submitting a bid for £600 which means it will probably go much higher.

Trying to run the fun?!

Well not now when if they'd been a more committed bargist they'd have seen it in time to bag it for £800.

There are some bargains to be had, even with the shipment costs. Avoid the coastal cities, because of rust, but the inland cities, are very dry, so very little rust to deal with, even on old cars. It also helps with the favourable exchange rate.

Looks like an old school Volvo with the estate part turned into a pick up bed from the side.

Corrosion warnings at the MOT on brake/fuel lines don't mean anything - mine had them going back for about 10 years. I only had them done as I was being fussy and dropped the rear subframe when I had the suspension done.

I don't often find things to add to this thread, but a bit of browsing tonight found 2 cars at different ends of the budget, both of which appeal:

Very nice Audi at the top end:

And also with "wood", but nearer the bottom end:

Nice Saab 9-5 Aero at £1250, bit of haggling and could probably be had for less.

All important breather kit done, sump drop & clean, auto 'box oil change, SID pixels sorted. Sounds like there's a shock or a bush playing up at the back, but sounds like a good one overall...

Have we had this yet? Lovely looking E500. Interesting to see a pan roof on a saloon, not personally seen one before.

Saw this car on Auto Trader’s Android App. Thought you might be interested. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2015...

There's always a bush playing up at the back on these.

Couple of mini-barges from Ingolstadt which represent excellent value for money I think.

Only 60k on this one and can be had for two bags!
