Interesting to see the Granadas, look much like an oversized Cortina hehe

Ford never sold the Granada on this side of the world AFAIK, I guess they were too close to the Falcon in size which was already well established.

I do like those 2-door Granadas, and that Mk1 with the 2.8i engine!

As for Granadas over here, the Falcon was already established and similar in size. In fact Ford Australia even copied the styling of the Mk2 Granada for the XD Falcon - they are just so alike but apparently only the headlights are shared….

I think their biggest problem was being in the band for nearly £700 a year Road Tax!

And BMW and Mercedes were making metal-roofed convertibles back then with 3 litre petrol engines, some of which cost less than £400 to tax.

Now they are getting on that tax bill starts to look quite painful.
There’s far better wafty convertibles that come to mind which makes the IS250 C a peculiar choice for a used buy.

E Class cabrio comes to mind
I just like the Lexus ethos, and what's the difference over a year in road tax really? I couldn't ever see myself in a Mercedes cabrio, unless it's a much older model...a W124 would be epic...and for the same reasons I like the Lexus!!

Any idea what this is?

Well, actually it isn't! It's a Chinese made Bamin Automotive snappily named CJY6420E. Based on the ancient BJ1212 which can be traced back to the 60's and with a Pajero front end grafted on to a prehistoric body on frame.

Bamin Automotive is a Chinese Military venture and another curio on the BJ1212 chassis was the Mercedes W123 rip off built as an estate and truly hidious hi rise 4 x 4 pick up!

There was a Mk2 at Picnic at Hanging Rock a couple of years ago - lots of confused people trying to figure out what it was!

It looked small compared to an XD Falcon.

About 15 years ago a house near me had at least 8 of these Granada Coupes in the garden in various states of decay along with other Capris etc. I believe the owner passed away and the house was cleared and refurbished, guess the cars were just weighed in back then.

A new one on me found online, the Zotye M300 EV, a chinese built electric Fiat Multipla, who'd have guessed. They did also sell the M300 as an ICE car.

AITO M5,built in conjunction with Huawei. Has hints of a Porsche Macan.

The M5 uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged gas engine which works as a generator and never actually powers the wheels. Depending on the specification, the output of the system is 272 horsepower (203 kilowatts), 428 hp (319 kW), or 496 hp (370 kW).

Huawei also worked on the in-car electronics and delivered its infotainment system, for which the reviewer one claims is one of the best in the industry.

Price £31,000. Please excuse the irreverent gnome.

XD Falcon is a bit squarer and more slab-sided than the Granada looks too.

We had an old XF Falcon wagon for a while when I was a kid, 6 seater (front bench seat) and the old 4.1 straight-6 with LPG conversion and column shift. It was bright red and looked much like a giant brick. hehe

Spotted today, Li Auto L9. Company images. PHEV I think, although not sure.

Interior.

5/7 seats, cutaway to show layout.

Review.

Took loads of pictures TBH they were pants.

Certainly looks well put together priced from £40,000 to 60,000 and packed full of innovative features.

Nah, serious gnomes never do the bunny-ears in photos. You're definitely looking at an irreverent gnome here.

What’s even funnier to me is the application of a wheel clamp to the car on display.

A 2.4 liter Suzuki saloon with 4 wheel drive.

Left field autos certainly lives up to their name.

Guy I used to work with had a red one, he'd moved from Subaru's and Mitsubishis, he said it was great apart from the gearbox. Swapped it for a Levorg, but think he preferred the Suzuki.

High tax band for its mundane performance made these suffer in sales iirc.
