+1. The only problem is you can't say anything to Ronin without him going insane. It would be nice to discuss facts about what makes a car fast in the mountains or on a hill climb stage, but it's impossible with this guy to say anything but "your car is the absolute best / fastest / most insane lotus ever created by man, no F1 car or hill climb car could ever touch you" without getting your head ripped off. Not a school playground.
The reality of the situation is on these roads is after you drop under 2400lbs and have a good torque / power curve that puts over 250-300 to the ground, good tires and suspension you're basically talking fractions maybe a couple seconds faster over 10-14 miles. You can't really use more than 300whp on these roads.
If you guys want to see what I mean, open both of these videos and watch them side by side. Skip to 0:27 seconds on the first video, and skip to 4:14 on the 2nd video.

That green pole on the right side of the road means they are at the same point. Start them side by side and note the speed difference between Ronins 680whp Lotus and some kid in a 400hp EVO 8.
They actually run to the top of the hill about 1 or 2 seconds apart. This course is I believe 4 miles ish and Ronin's average calculated speed is approx 75mph (165km/h)

If anyone exhibited this perpetual 'suck-my-plums, you tampon' attitude in any other thread they'd be banned in fairly short order. Why should this guy be any different?
The original comment from PH that causes all the furore was one that associated him with 'The land that taste forgot' which has since proven to be absolutely bang on the money. Just put us all out of our misery.
For the record, I'm not lily-livered, just very bored.
Sadly Dave this where ph seems to have got to. Until I brought up closing the thread the mods appear not to have reacted to the childish behaviour either here or at the other thread.

PH'ers have had temporary bans and thread locks for MUCH less than the language and attitude this guy is displaying.
I'd say leave the thread open (to reasonable comments on the car etc.) but wield the ban hammer in the direction of whomever it may concern. The fundation of any decent society is that people are getting treated the same when the conditions are the same - I don't see why any exception needs so be made for people who have a thread dedicated to them.

Quite right. Some of the comments on this thread have done the individuals involved and the site more generally no favours.
