RE: Porsche 911 (992) Carrera S Cabriolet: Driven
Discussion

We have discussed that it's a better car than the alternatives. To dismiss something you have no experience of in that maner is sad. I am not jealous of other cars that I cannot afford. If I like them, I admire them - like the Lotus Evora or LC500 or even new Mustang but lets gloss over that in your vehement tirades against me.
What a sad little old fool you are.
We’ve covered this one. I’ve driven the best (attainable) Lexus made. You haven’t even managed that! What a sad little old fool you are.
The 250 isn’t even the best in its class, slow, thirsty, soft handling. You know, what it was designed to do.
As for ‘birds’ I’d say you’re Lexus has you covered, the perfect contraceptive.

By the time I'm your age, it will be the 2030s. As far as I'm concerned, you are a "silly old fossil".
You must have been a very young chap when you joined here. A Lexus RCF will be very cheap when you are my age and so will your insurance premiums. It would be a very nice car for you. Thank me at the time - I will still be alive in the 2030s. st4 said:

Er, no.
Turbocharging the Boxster hasn't ruined it.
Increased power and torque across the range.
If you are using a 2.7 Boxster as a benchmark you need a new benchmark.
Cars like this are about being fun, an engine that needs to be worked and makes a nice sound makes the car fun. Is this mumsnet? Turbocharging the Boxster hasn't ruined it.

It becomes tiresome. Especially if you get overtaken by wildlife whilst reving the nuts off a rattly old Lexus.
It's all about torque, you see.

Honda S2000, Type R, etc. being prime examples.
These are some of the best drivers cars ever made. With regards to power for an overtake. Change gear and get it in the power band. It takes very little time and in the time you consider the manoeuvre you can change the gears - that is what they are for, st4 said:

And you’ve owned which variants?st4 said:

I wouldn't put them in that category.
VTEC is pretty much all or nothing and you need to send the engine a telegram asking for more power ...
Better than a Lexus though.

I had a loan of an EP3. I thought it was terrific. The gearshift and engine were amazing. A simply brilliant hatch actually.
It was far more of a drivers car than the insipid mk5 golf gti which was a triumph of blandness.
I like hondas.
VTEC Hondas are half way there. It was far more of a drivers car than the insipid mk5 golf gti which was a triumph of blandness.
I like hondas.
Superchargers help ( as per my first S2000 ).
You are clearly aiming low.
Ever driven a modern 911 ?
