It really depends what a RS4 costs in that particular (and seemingly high tax) market.

Another relative vs absolute thing that escapes you.
Not really. It is bad value here and bad value there.Nothing is escaping.
Probably poor value for you. But not necessarily for someone in this market as you have demonstrated that there is nothing cheaper that can compete.

In other words it may well be very poor value for someone like you in absolute terms but excellent value for someone else in this market, here or anywhere. It is relative, which quite clearly escapes you.
Exactly. A Ferrari 296 is poor value because it doesn't have much more power than this which "you can't use on the road" anyway, and its luggage capacity is crap and can't seat 4-5 people. Doesn't mean it's poor value for someone looking for a Ferrari though.

Careful as could be accused of being someone "who thinks he's above everyone else" for understanding such seemingly elementary concepts...

It is a shame that there are all sorts of sound issues with that vid. It sounds electric when it first pulls away, and then you got a bit of noise on the fly by bit.

The car looked good though I thought.

It's just been up the hill again (in the dry this time) and looked brilliant dynamically.

I still struggle with the oversized "wombat's nostrils" front end though, even when the car is painted an unassuming shade of light grey.

Poor form as that was another poster you have quoted and not me.

Overpriced is overpriced whether alternatives exist or not either absolutely or relatively.

It's underpriced. Fact.

I bought a bag of nuts today for £3.49. They were definitely overpriced.

What are you on about. I was not replying to you nor wanted to quote you in the first place. You're very sensitive about this.

You're definitely conflating absolute and relative in addition to not understanding that value is very subjective. It is overpriced for you. But not for everyone.

Tell me about it, I can't find a decent priced fur coat anywhere.

I usually go for bottled water with the fruity taste. Far more satisfying IME.

The G8x’s have the ZF8 box, same as that in the RS4
I assumed the RS4 would be dsg
Nope, have to hold it on the brakes to "launch" it vs RS3 say with proper DCT launch control.

TX.

Calm down,I’m more relaxed than you’ll ever understand for many reasons.

Okay it’s the best car ever, can I go home now?

If they're overpriced nuts, I assume you understand all about the costs of farming them, labour costs and machinery costs of getting them, collecting them, sorting them, transporting them, packaging them etc etc?

No one said it was bast car ever, but that's a nice strawman.

You don't sound relaxed at all, it's just a car that you don't like the look of and find subjectively too expensive.

No Tow bar option, so faffing about with roof racks for the bikes and forget about anything with a tow hitch on it.

Nah, they were the finest nuts the supermarket had. Sat next to a bag for £1.89.

I was feeling wild so went big. Go big or go home after all...

So I went home with my expensive nuts.
