My two fair-weather cars. Only done 5k in almost 9 years with the SL, so that is going to be out on any bright day this summer.

Both fabulous.

A friend who is a detailer is currently buffing this up for me - this little one is definitely up there for fun factor - even if it is cold out at the moment! Amusing to chase and stick to much faster stuff, wringing the neck of the MX5.

I remember an orange Pantera race car when I was a gopher for a Formula Opel Euroseries team back in the mid 90's. It may have been a Dutch team, or driver maybe? There was an Esprit Lotus in the same series I think? It was often seen being pushed by the mechanics down the pit lane. The Pantera was always reliable I recall and sounded glorious. I'll have a Google later unless anyone here remembers it?

ETA

The De Tomaso Pantera GT1 is a racing version of the De Tomaso Pantera built by ADA Engineering for use in the British GT. It participated in the British GT at Oulton Park and 3 rounds of the BPR Global GT in 1995. It also qualified for the 1996 24 Hours Du Mans but didn't qualify fast enough. It ran in the GT1 class of the BPR Global GT 1995 season. Not much info on the car is known.

Dutch connection may be that I think Jan Lammers drove this .
Don't remember much else about it either .

No mention of this on his Wikipedia ,so maybe completely wrong .

The Le Mans 1996 info I found was that drivers were , Thorkild Thyrring , Kris Nissen ,both Danish , Phil Andrews , British
Eliseo Salazar , Chilean and Max Angelilli , Italian .

Car listed as didn't turn up for the race ,so maybe didn't get past pre qualifying .

It was Thorkild that I remember, as I chatted with him in the pits. It always looked and sounded great but just wasn't fast enough.

lol, absolutely not. It doesn't matter what you have so long as you love it and drive it. I love cars and I like to mix with people who like cars. Not supercars, not expensive cars, not lots of cars, just cars. I couldn't care less if you're 19 and in a Saxo with neons under it or a bugatti.

I was pulling out of my drive in the Exige today and a very nicely modified Fiesta ST pulled up and the passenger took a photo of my car. I got out, they both got out, an hour's chat later we both finally set off to our destinations. A father and son out for a drive in the lad's car and proper petrolheads. We got on famously.

Car people, great, car apathy, fine, it's the anti car tts I cant be doing with. ps off and leave us alone. Oh, and the infighting, McLaren owners dont like Ferrari owners and vice versa crap, you can ps off too.

There are so few real car enthusiasts now, of any sort, that I think it's really important to take that attitude. From young lads ineptly modifying old diesel Skodas that they adore to old boys driving Bentley Blowers we're all car enthusiasts and need to cut out the sneering nonsense.

So Leg is also a really nice guy - I hate him even more!! biglaughrofl

And whilst I'm of course envious of your garage, I realise that (in Ronnie Barker position) many will be envious of me, having amassed two toys to play with. I don't drive mine enough, so it must be a full time job running your collection.

I'm very fortunate in that the car bug gene has passed down to my son, who now makes a career on the scene. And runs a classic, a V8 & a Jap car.

I totally 'get' the 2CV being more fun. I'm really enjoying driving the Trabant as much as I can at the moment. Cruising at 45mph, 135/80/13 tyres, makes every corner fun.

And there's just no need to rush everywhere! biggrin
A fellow enthusiast! I love the 2cv because you can wring its neck without getting into trouble, going round corners at speed is hilarious. A truly honest and functional car plus people smile and wave when they see you out and about. Winner.

I was at a car show many years ago and it was in a field at the bottom of a very steep grassy incline. The weather was great, right up until it wasn’t. Torrential rain and the field became waterlogged quite quickly... everyone decided it was a good idea to leave.

The following half hour was very amusing as all sorts of cars struggled up the hill, sliding back down, spinning wheels etc... the 2CVs nailed it!

I was in a Mini so made it up without too much drama... but nothing like the ease of the Citroen’s

1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia spider, I've owned for 45 years, been off the road for 16 years finally decided time to rescue, kept me busy during lockdown sourcing parts from as far away as Italy and Canada!

Nice. My Alfa Guilietta Sprint coupe. Pre 1970 Alfa’s must be the prettiest cars ever made. The museum in Milan is stunning.

Agreed, works of art, the sprint is so simple but so good looking, yours looks superb.
My son was due to take me to the museum last July as a birthday present but it didn't happen for obvious reasons, something to look forward to sometime when allowed!
