Really enjoyed reading through your post, Slippy.

If the guys found you a WRC car, I’m really interested to know what happened with the project as clearly a lot of money was sunk into that!

I’ll also await pictures of your WRC car!!

I'm not sure why everyone is moaning about the cost
because we would love to buy one!
As per my original post, I believe they are all sold anyway, hence why I'm not sure why anyone is bothered by the price?

I would love to revisit this article in 18 months time and see if they actually sold any of these vehicles.
Half of them are already sold.
Late May apparently only a handful were left as someone I know was offered one so as above, would presume all gone a month later.

The P25 press release states it uses Bilstein suspension with adjustable compression and rebound, so I'd guess Bilstein Clubsports - which are around £5000 also........ Guess I wasn't that far off after all :-)

But Bilstein don't make a Clubsport kit for the Impreza....

I'm sure if you asked Bilstein to make you 25 sets for a vehicle the don't currently support, you'll be paying a lot more than £5k a set.

Ask them how much it would cost to supply a set of Clubsports using the B16 as a reference for damping

:-)

Have you seen the P25 upright design? It would be a new damper.

I've been there and done that with Ohlins. The reason for a fitting kit having to be used on the Evo 4-6's is because Ohlins wouldn't release a new product as it was apparently too much work. That is, they didn't want to change the CNC program to machine 1mm less material off both internal mount surfaces, machine M12 bolt holes rather than M14 and clock the top mount 20 degrees. This would be on a mass marketed item with a large amount of sales, not just 25 sets plus spares.

Indeed a great read (for part 1!) Was there someone on here that ran a roadgoing one but white a good few years ago?

great read Slippy!

as for the P25 ...think i'd rather get a bespoke 22R (i know they're not the same thing) & pocket the £500k ...at least with a 22R i wouldn't worry about driving it, or tinkering with it (& the same reason i wouldn't get a 22B either)

It actually looks loads better on a potato cam than it does in the renders. Wheels look like a really good tribute to R14 WRC (apart from not being gold!! curse ). Is there a lack of gear lever? Guess sequential will be run through paddles then?

Can't wait until Saturday, going to leave smudgy fingerprints all over it.

It’s a Subaru and after god knows how many decades, they still don’t make nice interiors- but that’s a moot point anyway! Were you expecting a 2022 Mercedes AMG interior? rolleyes;)

I wasn't expecting it to be literally the same as in 1999. With an idrive controller super glued in place of the gearstick.

Certainly for £550,000.

I quite like the fact that they've made a very 'Subaru' interior but with decent materials. Too many of these restomod type cars can't resist the urge to make the inside look like a poor man's Zonda.

They appear to have forgotten to install a gear lever.

It's not a MY99 interior, those heater controls are pre-facelift so the same since 1992 iirc.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it, fit and finish look good in the photos too.
