2 months MOT, do ya feel lucky?

It looks fabulous though, needs proper twin exhaust tips instead of the dodgy fat pipe it's got fitted.
It's a lot of mileage for your money though. Strong price considering

Any reason this isn't the coolest car on the planet? Unloved tatty version of an iconic car, for the price of a 4-pot diesel. I love it.

Out of budget, obvs, but perhaps not by as much as you'd think.

ETA - it's even practical enough to convince the frau that it makes sense for the kids.
I love the 2+2 but it’s very much the Nicky Hilton of cars: certainly fit in its own right, but overshadowed by it’s older and better looking sibling, and further improved when the top is taken off.

This ticks all the boxes for a thrilling purchase experience for me: https://www.gumtree.com/p/jaguar/jaguar-xj6-s-auto...

1. It's an old Jag
2. It's on Gumtree
3. It's in Glasgow
4. MOT just out gov but outstanding car etc
5. Look at the background in the pictures!

Claimed 51k miles and £675 quid though...

And all you need to do is leave your number. smile
I suspect the ownership experience would be equally exciting.
Go on, buy it - the owners thread would be epic! biggrin

I agree, but I like the generally unfancied siblings of the more obvious trollop-of-a-car, so the 2+2 and my own SLC fit the bill for me.

The fact that they're generally very much cheaper has absolutely nothing to do with it at all. Honestly ... wink

I'm sure that that was standard exhaust tail pipe on the 530i.

LS400 at sensible money, would have gone for a look but have just bought a thoroughly unbarge like WRX (sorry, been on my bucket list for a looong time):

Looks like it might have some paint but the ad is well written and the car looks honest enough.
Would be tempted by that were it not the other end of the country. If someone were to buy it, run it for a year then sell it to me for the same price it's up at, well...

Exactly, but I suspect that is built into the price. The advert is one big yes all the way through, and then a solid "awww crap" at the end.

Glasgow is a fiddle to get to from any East or West coast train stop though. Surely thread form is to get the train and buy blind? Sounds tremendous.

Yeah. It's a 7hr 425 mile journey back home for me. Perfect car to do it in though laugh

If it's as presented in the ad then someone is going to get a great car with the Lexus. I agree that it looks like it's had paint, in picture 4, but that wouldn't necessarily put me off.

A budget mini-barge. £750 with the v6 and 77k miles. http://www.countryclassics-cars.com/car/rover-45-2...
Under-rated motors, and a snip at that price.
I was looking around that budget, and 90% of what you'll find is over-priced knackered tat.
If you're an average sized guy or gal this is comfortable safe motoring on the cheap driving
(I however, am a big fella & needed more space, hence the Mondy est) hehe

I think there was a tipping point after which they were pretty awful - de-contented and badly assembled. My Dad has one of those frown but the one linked looks a different proposition altogether.
