Thanks for that, yes it is an English plate, I thought that the reverse single D's were issued in the 1953 to 1962 year range so being a 1957 vehicle it might have been on there from new (even if the plate had been issued earlier then transferred)
As Oxford Drinker says above, reverse D was issued between July and the end of August 1964. This would therefore have been issued at the beginning of that period. So, it's a show plate, or much less likely it was acquired as a private plate before export. Sue20 said:

Finally purchased my first dateless plate, 18 UE. I believe was the cheapest 2x2 for sale.
Looking forward to putting it on a car and maybe a decent long term investment?
Can anybody please shine light on when it was issued? Thanks

In my village today I saw SAM 303 on a nice white McLaren and 1GOE on another vehicle which I refuse to identify as it's horrendous. This is part of the Igoe family's fleet - which includes quite a lot of other IGOE-related plates.
The car you don't want to talk about was at my local(ish) pub on both Sunday and this evening, I actually like it, the lighter colour suits it. The Chiron is now on 5 GOE isnt it? See there cars often at the pub. Always was curious to who or what they did (although none the wiser of who the IGOE family are) although they are local.jonah35 said:
