A mate of mine has a lovely V8 one of these.

He takes it out to play at Santa Pod smile

Other than the hideous MINI badge on the back, that's rather splendid.

Reminds me of the days spent in the back of one just like that, breathing in the Silk Cut smoke from my mate's mum and sister in the front.

Happy days.

Indeed, yummy and at that price "appreciating my asset" (have you still got your A124?)

But what is it - woody countrymans went out of production 11 or 12 years or more earlier than that, and clubman fronted estates with stick on vinyl wood strips were probably out of production then with the advent of the Metro. Nice, but a hybrid of some sort.

I technically still own it, but there is 'a man' somewhere who has seen lots more of it than me over recent months. I'm looking forward to getting it back.

Following the sale of mine, I'd appreciate a moratorium on the posting of XJSs for while. Ta.
You've sold it CdG? Lovely old thing that was. Any replacement on the horizon?

Regretfully, yes. Hopefully a replacement next week.

Cars don't come much more purposeful-looking than this bad boy.

Expensive but a lovely 320 W124 estate. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C800300

That is expensive, but if it really is rust-free (and I strongly suspect it isn't) it might be as close to a new 124 as you can get.

I do wish I'd bought one of those when they were cheap. I think the main reason I didn't was the cost of fuel and fear of the Bork factor.
Still an epic car at around 30 years old.

Great looking car.
Initial thoughts are that it's reasonably priced without looking too much into the details.

I really like the original 6 and am a little surprised at the price. I thought they'd gone way north of that price for a good one.

I do have a real aversion to grey leather, however. It reminds me of those awful jackets that likely lads used to wear in the early 80s!

I thought it was reasonably priced too. I don't know much about them, but I think I've just decided that I want one.
