Girls, can we put the handbags down please and get back on track with the discussion in hand,
we are all passionate about cars and driving, which is great and is why we are here.
So, where were we? Oh yes, German cars being driven like c*cks. Oh.....wait....

Made me laugh. Poor Eric. He quite litteraly doesn't have the first clue about car dynamics, or even cars full stop. Which probably explains why he genuinely
thinks a heavy front engine GT like a F-type can be a substitute for a mid engine, low COG and low PMOI car like a Cayman when they are at the polar opposite emds of the spectrum in terms of handling characteristics and packaging for performance cars.
sure, but a 320D being the last thing in performance cars, give me a break its a POS and about as enjoyable as being that chap on the dinner table having his brains picked out by hannibal lector, in fact he was having more fun, and an AWD drive car with 240+ bhp would easily out do a stty 320d especially with adverse weather conditions, anyone who says other wise is just making themselves more foolish as they already are. I like interesting cars, dervs like a 320D dont fall into my listthinks a heavy front engine GT like a F-type can be a substitute for a mid engine, low COG and low PMOI car like a Cayman when they are at the polar opposite emds of the spectrum in terms of handling characteristics and packaging for performance cars.

Unfortunately 0-60 etc still sells cars to some, even though it’s mostly either destructive or not easily achieved by the owner. These days, I guess it’s slightly easier with the electronics? Still, no bearing on how much fun, or what a chassis does.
I know the ubiquitous 320d is the subject of a lot of negative posts, but, as an ex owner of one, along with the E90 M3, for me, the 320 is a better car upto normal road speeds. An M3 just crushes it’s way along, massive tyres and power, mostly top end it has to be said. In comparison something on balloon tyres and compliant springs is far less work, and doesn’t need to be doing 100mph (up a slip road or otherwise) to make sense.
so you are saying a 320D is better than a M3 - christ almighty, can we lock this now - I seriously doubt this chap will take his 320D supercar on a track with a SubaruI know the ubiquitous 320d is the subject of a lot of negative posts, but, as an ex owner of one, along with the E90 M3, for me, the 320 is a better car upto normal road speeds. seems to me the only way to settle this is in a track ? dont you concur or will you pussy out? I think the latter old weasel
‘pussy out’ Er. Are you honestly the daftest brush in the box? You are challenging me to a race on a track because I have pointed out that your old Subaru isn’t going to be any faster than a 320d cross country. Is this same frustration that you can’t control on the road?
As for the M3, it was likely faster than anything you’ll ever own. A great car but on the road it didn’t make sense.
Can I ask. Have you ever held a race license?

I can easily take my car on a track but as predicted somehow i dont think you will complyEr. Are you honestly the daftest brush in the box? You can easily take your car on track. Really? And where do you take it Eric, honestly, I’m intrigued.
so you are a pussy? but feel the need to put a lame facepalm photo on like a 10 year old boy would, weak - its pretty sad you said that an A6 derv like that on the sliproad is something the people 'aspire to' which says enough about you in itself. A puny derv with a CVT box is what no true petrolhead would aspire to, maybe to you its a supercar however which seems resonable.Edited by ericmcn on Saturday 2nd March 21:08

Damn, you got me I test drove a new B9 Petrol S4 saloon yesterday, to replace my BMW M140i.
Complete let down
In Dynamic Mode the steering is vague, throttle very slow and the ride was like a skate board (even after switching to "comfort")
I did like the interior and virtual cockpit
Tyre noise was bad and it didn't really want to get going.
Talking to the sales guy after, "you can't order one because the emissions testing hasn't been approved on this model. Also when you can it will be a diesel only" It transpires that ALL S cars above S3 will be diesel going forward.
