Braved it a few days ago, no heater, top down, froze my nuts off, but it was worth it

Fired up first time after sleeping in the garage since November too, which was nice!

Haven't seen one of these dicks for a long time, very nice. An old family friend, Squadron Leader, had one of these and loved playing up to the Biggles stereotype roaring around the country lanes in Norfolk!

Think you might have got out of bed the wrong side.

On a car enthusiast site, it's not surprising that some/many have more than one car, and that could be something special that they keep for summer months. It's also not surprising that, like society at large, there'll be some who can afford something more expensive than others as their 'something special for summer'. Furthermore, the lack of surprise continues when proud owners of all sorts of 'something special' show off what they have on a thread that asks them to do exactly that.

I've just taxed the TVR. It's a slightly upgraded Chimaera 400. That it's not as prestigious as some others on here isn't going to get my knickers in a twist. I'm happy I've got it, and I'm happy the sun's out so I can enjoy it. I certainly don't resent others spending their hard-earned on whatever they want, and I'm glad they do. There's some lovely cars on this thread, and it was relatively free of moaning too!

Save hard, buy cleverly and you can have a summer car too. At 39 I didnt have a summer car, but I bought the G33, sold it after a few years for 3 x price, used the equity to step up to a TVR and just stepped up.

My summer car currently looks like this



But when the frosts stop and the salt has been washed off the roads it will look like this

I can't believe people have been asked to show their cars on Pistonheads and are actually showing their cars and discussing them, on Pistonheads.

People should f*ck off to a car website if they want to do that sort of thing.

How's the carcoon coped with the past winter? I'm thinking of buying one for a car I haven't yet bought....

Really impressed with it. I have a dehumidifier in it too, so humidity is a constant 50 percent. It copes well with wind and rain, although you have to brush off heavy or wet snow as it collapses it. I can get the car out and drive away in under 10 mins and put it back in 10 mins.
