Who is r139's .hot date with if not CdG?!

It's not that "client" T-Lex had is it?
No hot date ever includes me. I suspect that Ross's patient would be of significantly more appeal.

(For those of you that didn't see her during her brief appearance on-thread, she's a wholesome and rather normal-looking woman of average appeal; you didn't miss much*).

* Keeping her to ourselves.
I read this and thought "you what!?!" laugh
Yeah, the codicil/PS/asterisk/small or whatever it was is quite important here.
hehe

SLK back.

Gearbox service including oil and filters, general check over, noise when steering right fixed.

£309.37. Looked at the 190 and diagnosed for free, including videos!

A good sign - two sl55s and a CL63 in as well as various other mercs - w124 and r129.

The SLK drives better, the gearbox is much smoother. And it’s nice to have had someone look over the car.

Highly recommended if you are in the midlands and have a Merc!
Wait... what? £35+VAT per hour??
It looks like 57 I think the 35 is the star computer diagnostics charge looking at the invoice

Congrats. I bet that's lovely.

Shame about the alignment of the Z though!
He'll have to get new reg plates on the way home now you've pointed it out smile
What seen cannot be unseen! Luckily, new plates ready so I can put my 2x2 on it. However, I want them made with Creamer Daimler on the bottom- anybody know someone to do this?

Forecourt shot

That looks very nice, Alec, well done. Another vote for the retro plates man off insta.
Thanks, just messaged him!

Oa, how long are you in the Midlands for? I am in Loughborough all week next week and an evening drink (and a paw over some cars) would be welcome. I can't do Tuesday (hot date). Not sure whether to take G-wagen or SL.
I’m in Loughborough right now, and will be here until the end of next week. Will send you an email. SL please! You can compare to the SLK.

We can have a nice drive and visit a country pub that does good food. I have a poker night on Thursday, and would prefer not to do Monday but am good aside from that.
Poker night, in Loughborough? Is it in a pub? I’m not far away and I like poker.
It's on Zoom and via Pokerstars. Happy to add anyone. It's not high stakes or anything - $11 buy in, unlimited rebuys, 1 add on. Good fun. It's a real mix of people from different networks gathered during lockdown. It varies from 5 or 6 of us to 15.

Ouch. Also note they are charging for 1.1 hours, 0.4 hours and the like. Not hammering for a full hour or half hour as I usually seem to get.

Looks great. Loads more photos and a reader wife thread please. What's the interior like compared to the Super 8?

Not banned from the new thread! Unless of course the officious bar-stewards see this and reimpose the ban
But before they do, I bought a thread budget barge whilst in forum purgatory. Then it had a moment. Then it was roadworthy again and then it died. I'll provide details later (if I'm still not banned) when I am back from my trip to Iceland.

Greggs frozen sausage rolls are spectacularly good once cooked in the oven -- highly recommended.

n.b. exclusive to Iceland

Congratulations alec - another lovely looking car. Look forward to more details too.

I too noticed the tactical presence of Scrump today. I think thread should take some pride that on the PH moderator calendar Fridays are now circled for proactive patrol of the barge pages lest some risqué pics get under the radar! wink

If they sold those is Iceland, proper Iceland, they would be 50 quid a go. You would not believe how expensive Everything is over here. Although the glacier offroaders are epic. We all love a good tall side wall don't we, how about 40" tyres on 16" rims?
Ran over a gr yaris? Nope, didn't feel it. Sooooo smooth!
On the drive out of reykjavík it was like floating on a magic carpet, which for a defender 110 is kinda special, as they normally feel like a cross between a dodgem and an Audi a1 in terms of comfort.

I've just been reading up on green lane-ing for the FFRR, so that sounds pretty special. Imagine having hot sausage rolls straight from the oven at the same time. An unbeatable combination, Shirley!

Close but no cigar - it ain't me!

I do love an 80's Merc but I wonder if this is too 80's even for me - and at over a hundred and thirty grand, I can't see it shifting that quickly even with a built in telly!

560 SEC with a allegedly genuine AMG 6.0 conversion with a 32v quad cam head and widebody kit. 1/50 made in total and this one is RHD.

I love it a lot and hate it a bit. Great TV/VHS integration.

Welcome back Nicks90.

I love that bm's mental association at the mention of Iceland is frozen sausage rolls. Says a lot about the fundamentally decent nature of the man. I think...

We're watching a very strange but intriguing Icelandic show on Netflix called Katla (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11102190/) that is notable for the glacial offroaders with massive tyres, including a Defender and a Scooby Doo type van, which is excellent. Not as good as travelling in one, that must have been quite an experience.

Barge collection for me on Monday, definitely not in the same ballpark as the recent Daimler and Maserati purchases, but 6 cylinders, petrol and auto so I think it qualifies.

As it's the weekend and some of you might have some spare time, I thought someone might find this enjoyable.
It's direct comparison of W123, W210 and W211 estates, and a W124 saloon- the caveat being that they are all diesesal.

Haven't watched yet, but interesting merely to see all of these in one place at the same time.
Even from the screenshot the ubiquitous 210 rust is visible. Tragic.
