Nice, cheap enough, but underpowered.

With some very slight de-modifying (mainly those front indicators and reverting to original alloys) I think this is a very tidy, standard looking Cavalier. I'd drive it.

I quite like that, it reminds me of the first car i ever bought with my own money. It was the same colour but the one i had was a rather slow base model 1.6.http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/v...
2 grand sounds a bit rich though........

Disagree, If you wanted to build a similar Cavalier you would have to spend considerable more than £2k! £2K would normally not even get you the worst example of a C20LET in a Corsa/Astra that still runs 1.2 brakes, suspension etc

I still love it and imagine it will sell at that price to an enthusiast, it just wouldnt be my money.

Indeed, but its still a 20 year old Cav with 100k on it. It may cost a lot more than 2 grand to build it today but modifications do not equal a 120% increase in value over a standard sri.

To someone building a kit car with a Vauxhall red top in mind the engine/turbo has to be worth £2k alone... I still love it and imagine it will sell at that price to an enthusiast, it just wouldnt be my money.
