Anybody won one of those car lotteries?
Discussion
I had a go with a few tickets on the DCC Specialised E-Bike which was drawn last night and it was won by one of the locals from here with one of his ~140 entries. Do anyone recall the max number of entries per person?
I only spend a few quid every few months, but two of the last three competitions I've entered have been won by the same person. I viewed the entry lists to those competitions, and subsequently a few others after that. I didn't realise that there are repeat gamblers on that site who clearly have a spending problem.
It's no skin off my nose to stop my small spend but I do wonder how sustainable this practise could be for the competition host? From what I'm seeing, bulk buying tickets is doing very well for very few.

punters with loads of money who like to have a flutter and can (surprising how many of these there are)
punters seeing the same old faces winning again and get disillusioned / sceptical about the competition.
there is no answer so the organiser probably lets it run until there is a cashflow issue.

Compared to the others DCG have a (relatively) low spend max # of entries from memory, I think £150-300 odd is generally the most you can spend on a single comp with DCG.I only spend a few quid every few months, but two of the last three competitions I've entered have been won by the same person. Guessing that was a 99p comp for him to have had so many?

I only played for a bit of fun, and I do mountain bike so thought it would be a nice little dream to upgrade to an e-bike for a few hours but it's not worth the consideration when I see the same people ploughing cash into every competition for the sake of it.
I presume the these winners take the cash alternative 9 out of 10 times.

I think the thing to keep in mind if you're just doing it as a little punt from time to time it doesn't matter if 1 person has all the other tickets or 9,000 people have a single ticket each your odds are the same. I've certainly entered comps with the view of taking the cash alt if I won (undersold motorbike comp on 7days for example)I only played for a bit of fun, and I do mountain bike so thought it would be a nice little dream to upgrade to an e-bike for a few hours but it's not worth the consideration when I see the same people ploughing cash into every competition for the sake of it.

Invariably though you do get repeat winners (heck I've won 2 cars from DCG) and alot of them increase the liklihood of doing so purely due to how much they sink in. Likewise though you'll have people that max out all the time and haven't won.
Just did the maths on one of the websites big comps and they'd allow you to spend £60k on tickets for a single competition which is madness

Yes, quite right. I think as a previous poster said, it's easy to be disillusioned but regardless of other people's spending, the odds to me are still the same.
The black Nova is live on DCG.
I predict this will be sold out before the Friday draw.

Nice that I may get a ticket. I saw a Lambo on dream cars instagram not sure when that will be on.
Was thinking about the postal entry hit rate. I'm another who noticed a big drop off in the % of successfully processed entries. However, I also noticed how poor the current postal system seems to be, likely related to all the strikes we have had recently. Lots if my post has arrived after the anticipated delivery date. I'm holding off sending any further until the backlog of post looks to have cleared up.

I’ve given up on Postals, rather spend that money and buy my selected tickets and ensure entry. Stamps aren’t cheap most want you to use 1st class.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
