Who on earth agreed to use bollards and place them there!

They need removing and replacing with railing or something else.

And a parking-related one...These bollards have been installed to stop cars parking half on the pavement, but the bollards themselves reduce the usable width of the pavement by a third, making it difficult for pedestrians to pass never mind folk with pushchairs or mobility scooters frown

We all have out quota of of clowns, whoops meant Town Planners, they upgraded this busy junction in Aberdeen, entrance to hospital car park, numerous companies and the hospital down the road, some companies on the right hand side of the road and a lot of busses, to and from the hospital.

The cars parked on the right hand side have always been able to park, but as there is no pavement, they just installed a metal barrier from the wall on the edge to the kerb. Thinking was (I assume), pedestrians shouldn't walk past cars where there is no pavement, BUT, as folk work down the road on the right hand side, and coming from the right are supposed to cross at the pedestrian light, all good, but when they cross back over down the road there are no pedestrian lights.

Folk being folk, just walk into the road to pass the barrier and walk past the parked cars.

There seems to be a lot of bad parking outside WH Smith. I am wondering, if, by any chance, it is not a coincidence.

They recently installed a set of these along one of the access pavements at my local hospital. The reason for installing the bollards was to stop the usual muppets who decided to park there and hope they didn't get a ticket or parked on the pavement whilst waiting for whichever family member was having their appointment.

As a result of the new bollards thankfully no cars now block that pavement. However the same pavement, that originally barely allowed 2 people to walk side by side / pass comfortably without knocking into each other, has now been narrowed so much that you have no choice but to walk in single file.

Of course if someone rounds the corner and walks towards you it ends up with an awkward situation of playing a game of who should either squeeze up against the wall of the hospital to make room or jump into the road and risk getting knocked by a car. Then of course there's anyone anyone in a wheelchair or hospital access chair that now has to take a longer route back through the main carpark and use the access points / crossing to get to the main entrance that way, as they'd get stuck if they used the now bollarded route.

I've just spent a happy 5 minutes trying to find this on google maps. This looks to be the building (can't quite get the same viewing angle). Looks like the clock tower on the left has gone then. And it's now pedestrian, so less chance of bad parking wink

The old market clock tower, not bombed during the war but demolished in 1964 for the lolz.

Happy New year everyone. I get first bad parked car of 2019!
This Mercedes who seems to have rather than park in one of the many available spaces has parked on the roadway next to the spaces.

Technically OK, but a bit annoying in an otherwise full carpark

What can you say. Maybe she was in a hurry............

.
I emailed the company with a polite note about their inconsiderate parking, this is their response -

Please accept our profuse apologies for any inconvenience this incident caused you and thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.

Maisie’s Children’s Centre was closed from Christmas Eve until this morning and our bus was on loan for this period to a third party – we were unaware of this situation.

Please be assured we are taking steps to ensure that there is no repeat of this occurrence.

We are disappointed that our bus is now featured on the website you mentioned and would ask if you could extend us good will and, if it is within your power, remove the photos?

Once again please accept our apologies.

Thank you and best regard

Good response I thought.

Took this a while ago. Couldn't work out if it was bad parking or great parking. Must've been about an inch between the bollard and the car. And the driver must have exited via the passenger door...
