misbadging cars

New to this topic do apologies if this has been here before but I saw a V8 "Hanover Edition" VW Beetle today. Seems like it's a bit special as the V8 has a really small displacement.
VW's Hannover factory is the home of Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge. I.e. it's a van factory. If it was a one-off produced on the van production line, that might explain the specialised low-output V8...
Was being tailgated through a 30 road by an older 3 Series with aftermarket LED lights all over the front, we reached NSL, I accelerated and my diesel Astra left him for dead (he didn't like this but that's a different matter), anyway he caught up and of course had to overtake, it was badged as a 345d, which I have never heard of, I can't find any results on Google either, it was an e90 with a private plate so not sure what year. For my car to leave it for dead I would assume it was a 316d, I have a similar amount of power to a 318d so I doubt it was one of those and obviously nothing more powerful.

10/10 to the Micra owner for the equivalent to sticking two fingers up to those who get all huffy & judgemental about such things. Bet he/she added the badge just for that purpose & no doubt succeeded thus having the last laugh. Should have added an AMG badge as well but the MMicra works a treat. ![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/liWo25FA.jpg)
