Why did you sell?
I don't do "expensive" cars very well sadly. And it sounds daft, but whilst I love buying, driving and selling cars, I don't really like owning them. So I always find myself turning back to cheaper stuff that drives well and is easier to own. Less emotional overheads, as someone on here wisely said recently.

The 964 was delicious. Wonderful car. But no way on earth would I have tolerated a £10k engine bill if (when) the time came. It's a house deposit for the kids for christ sake, for nothing more than to put a car back together the way it was. I can afford it, but cannot see the value in any way. We had our fun, found the limits, went to the 'Ring, enjoyed it all. The car cost me nothing in bills, a bit of profit was there to be made, so like a good gambler I knew when to fold' em. I don't miss it and don't long for another. My current £950 XJ6 is honestly, genuinely, hand on heart, providing just as much pleasure. More actually. Without the overheads.

It's very nice. I have the urge to drift it down a nice dirt road though.

I followed a tidy Clio Williams t'other day, through Goodwood.

Reg was L1 NOB.

I couldn't come up with a single valid reason why you didn't own it.

I want.

Can't decide whether I would need to add the proper cosworth wing.

Good combo. Still can't believe I've never owned a Box. Can't recommend an X300 enough. I'd end up with a horses head in my bed if I suggested it in the Barge hutch, but it knocks spots off my old '124. Perhaps unfair given it's a generation newer in development, but there we are.

I'd love one too. They look better and better, and much more modern than the 124 (obvs!)

Remapped 2008 135i coupe 450bhp vs e46 M3 for weekend warrior stuff.

I've seen some of these modified 135i cars now arriving in the 10k [maybe 12k but that's simple budget creep] area and started wandering how they compare to the bench mark e46 m3 for weekend blasts.

Has anyone here driven both?

I'd expect that to be nearer 20k.

Not strictly relevant, but I am looking at getting a standard 135 in the next couple of months.

I've seen ~5 second 0-100kph times without mods, so an E46 wouldn't see which way a modded one went!
