It's early days but I'd appreciate any advice, recommendations or pitfalls especially as the air con is inoperative (3 flashing red lights when attempting to knock it on) and as far as phone connectivity goes, I'll have to pull into a lay-by for now as I haven't a Scooby Doo how to connect it!
Hopefully the air-con is a simple fix, I seem to remember there's a few easy diagnostics, I'll have a dig about but I suspect thread beards will beat me to it. I realise there's lots to do before titivating, but the transformation of mine having had new front arms and ball joints was quite startling.

Re the Bluetooth, the first thing to check is that you have the Bluetooth module. In your armrest, it's got two parts, and it should be in the top part. I can take a picture of mine later, if you need help locating it.

The old girl has landed!
107k with full(ish) service history but a few battle scars - perfectly described by the kindly and knowledgeable vendor and brilliant nick on the inside.
To put its purchase into context, I retire next year and after 15 years of fleet cars, wanted one of "my own". My only previous foray into Mercedes ownership is our current 1986 207D campervan which fanned the flame, hence "Shaggy's" arrival.
Having never had an automatic, or an estate for that matter, I'm pleasantly surprised at the drive - granted I've nearly used the parking brake as a clutch on a couple of occasions, but the waftability and relaxed manner makes me realise what I've missed all these years.
Anyhoo, I love it, Mrs W loves it and more importantly, the dogs do too and readily jump in the back as soon as I press the fancy tailgate button on the key fob (I love this feature!) .

I think you'll be fine. With reference to the 7G, I was wondering whether this difference to the E55 which has the 5 speed box, makes a difference to the refinement in general and at higher speeds.
I've always thought the E55 could do with an extra gear, for cruising purposes. As it is, the gearing is quite impressive. 1st gets you to about 50mph, 2nd about 85mph. Obviously I've not gone any faster than that....

Googling advice on the aircon reset/diagnosis is a minefield, so I'll potter off to my local Halfrauds and see if they pull my trousers down!
I'm giving serious thoughts to updating to an Android 10.0 DAB+ Satnav WiFi CarPlay system, but will leave it you good people to pass comment first!

Help.
I can't stop thinking about getting a sub-thread petrol (FF) Range Rover.
In reality, it would get used for short trips every few weeks (tip run, dogs, kayaks, bikes) with a couple of 500 mile round trips each year. This would kill a diesel. But with something like a FFRR sitting idle would likely be very bad for it too, right?

I'm sure it'll be fine.... I must admit some recent L322 'chat' has piqued my interest. Ok its a bit out of thread budget but its a facelift and I think it looks absolutely fab. However, how much wallet pain would be in store at those miles and with a dodgy torque converter..!!I can't stop thinking about getting a sub-thread petrol (FF) Range Rover.

That is a good price for quite a late car but not sure I would touch one with a declared gearbox fault. Although I suppose you know about the £2k bill in advance of purchase rather than the fun of the usual roulette game.

Thanks for confirming... I suspected that it must have an effective difference over the yobbo version and now I realise what that is. The 7G switches from sixth to seventh at 130mph... most amusing

LHD. That'll be one of our Eastern European chums. His girlfriend is probably one of our Friday regulars. In fairness, it looks quite well done and he's matched the pattern nicely around the ashtray. Nice attention to detail.
