Can picture the exact person that would buy that. Goes into the pub "I got a Mustang", and everyone is picturing some 60's fastback.

Wouldn't look outta place at a dogging site.

Blimey that's aged well. What a handsome thing
Six bags for a car with only 36K miles, with a creamy V6, every option you could really need, including that rare thing, an actual sunroof. All from a period in Peugeots history when their cars had a large dose of french chic, reasonable reliability and great handling. Is £6K really that mental? In an age when folk will happily pay £8K plus for an old W124 with north of 150k miles on it.

There are currently only 10 cars on AT that match this Pug for engine/spec/mileage and with the exception of a rather lovely (sadly diesel) CLK, there is nothing else I would give driveway space to. 3.0 X Type Jag, diesel Chrysler300C or this Peugeot?

(And yes, I know it's only a car, but it's a car of complete wrong-ness).
Stains on the seats to prove it too

How much would that be if it was an Alfa 164 in the same condition and similar spec?

Would parts availability be better for the Peugeot than the 164?

But the Alfa has the Busso cachet?

Doing a bit of research I now know the SVE24 badged model was the manual. Wilts. police had some in the 90s.

I think you could get around the sex pest image but you'd have to fully commit to looking like one of those weird Elvis fans who copies his hairstyle, or grow a mullet and ensure you're always in double-denim when driving it.

Actually who am I kidding, then you'd just end up looking like an American ex-pat sex pest.

And yes it has the all important misery gauge of nothingness.

Talking of Hubnut, I seem to recall he did a video on one of these Hyundai Stellars fitted with a Rover V8. It was really rather good.

Seems it was a Cortina underneath. The MoT history indicates Cortina like rust issues.

Wikipedia says that there was a Turbo version of that Mitsubishi engine.

Every day is a school day.

I once owned an ordinary 1400cc colt. The one with the funny dual range gearbox. It was quite perky, so I'd imagine one with nearly 130 rampant Miyako horses would have been quite good fun.

Reminds me of the scene out of Hannibal (2001) where Starling drives up to Mason Verger’s mansion and he notes that she’s driving a Mustang.

“Is it a five-point-oh? Oh, wa-owww!” - in his melted-face drawl.

That fits to a tee; Verger, an aggressive paedophile, liked the idea of a 3rd generation Mustang.

I hired one identical to that on my first trip to California. The most uncomfortable seats of any car I've ever driven, I had backache after only 50 miles and I was only 21 and fit as a fiddle at the time.

As soon as I saw that photo, I thought, "That's a total krachtenbundel." I didn't even have to read the text first, and yet, that's exactly how they describe it too. Amazing.
My boss at the time purchased one new in white (probably from Saunders Abbot Mitsubishi) due to his location scratchchin he wore driving gloves too eek and at 17 I thought what a tit rolleyes

It's just the numberplate that's making the Giugiaro penned four door Stellar seem Maserati like?

You mean the Stellar?

Probably the sensible proportions and possibly the subliminal Cortina link?

A vintage vanlife youtube channel?

I remember wanting one of these when they were contemporary, shame there's no interior pics. I'm imagining lots of brown or burgundy velour.

I'm imagining a piss-stained mattress, some fishing gear and a roll of duct tape.

You'd probably need to sell a kidney to keep it fueled, and old V6 on twin webber with aero design like that...
