Bit of cheeky haggling might just get this poppet into thread budget.

I really, really want to love that. But I don't.

OK this is out of budget but I doubt it will be by the time it actually sells and the color is fantastic

I really should turn off that Autotrader search, it's just a path to regret when a prettier one turns up.
I like that. A lot.

Yeah, I guess there are quite a few of us at that stage of life...

Blimey! There are a few 450SLC droptops - that's a new one on me! Pretty good....
I like that. Cool car.

I'm not interested in hearing facts/fake news about speed bumps or accident resilience. In fact, I've just ordered an angle grinder and am about to start work on my SLC.

Nice, low mileage, pre facelift W124 at Charles Ironside. 3.0 six and air con, but colour match between wing and door seems a bit off. Been on sale for ages so cheeky offer may secure...

Nice car, but you'd need sectioning if you paid 11 grand for it.

Anyway, can I redeem myself with this? Facelift 320E Sportline with leather and aircon - 161k for £3,300

https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1254918

That's much more like it, and great colours.

If the loom has been done that would be a very solid buy at that money.

If the 5 grand of service work is 'recent' and not 'lifetime'(!), could be a real bargain.

Nice indeed. It was kind of the French answer to the BMW E9. What other similar European coupes from that time are there?
The link is dead now - what is it? Peugeot 504 coupe?
Yup
It was a nice little thing.

I can't see this is £10k worth unless it was made perfect, but it looks fantastic and 488bhp is properly mental.

Not so much this one, but in general, the Fiat Coupe always struck me as an almost-design. There's something nearly-wonderful but not-quite-right about it.

May not be retro, but definitely starting to become a classic... Well, I’m my opinion they are. More so the tourers and saloons like mine that are Jap imports and totally corrosion free thumbup

Lovely certainly, but have you considered getting rid of the awful tints?

1996 E Class Coupe. "Only" the 2.2 but burning the right kinda fuel, and low miles with good history.

£4000

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009234...

That must be awful; my old 320 could barely drag itself along.
Eh? The 320 is a cracker of an engine.

The 220 is probably closer to 'adequate' but it'll work perfectly for what you want from a classic coupe.

Have we had this lovely (but pricey) thing:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202009214...

2010 W212 E500 estate in a smashing spec with really low mileage, and while the price is high you could go for another 3 years and not see another one for sale. Boring colours, and as ever with this generation of E and C class the interior looks like a slightly upmarket Vauxhall, but it's hard not to like it.

I've looked at that a lot, I'm on the hunt for an E63 in that shape with the 6.2l. It's a lovely thing. I'm not sure the price is too bad, WBAC reckon that's worth £11,000, they're normally pretty brutal with cars like that. If it was that lovely Emerald Green colour that merc do or even dark blue with a tan interior it'd be on my drive right now.
I like it too, but it's all the money and boring silver. Even at that price, sexy colours would make such a difference.

Out of thread budget, and I know the 2+2 was rather unloved, but does this seem cheap?

On a similar Jaguar theme, another awful leaper. What possesses these idiots?

I'd agree. There are plenty of PH threads about tyres that descend into bickering, but my personal experience is that the car matters a lot less than the rubber.

Buy what you fancy and stick winters on, and prepare to be amazed.

Great colours. If you buy it, the first thing to do will be to remove the AMG badge.

With the odd honourable exception (poster, not car) any LPGd car is a complete turn-off for me. It's the sign of a parsimonious fool who thinks the channel tunnel is to enable a French invasion and therefore something to be avoided.

Within a haggle of top thread is this shed of an Arnage. What could possibly go right?

The shed that it's parked in front of may be a more reliable form of transport.
Sold. With those 'brilliant' photos, it's not hard to see why! laugh
