Winning 0a!

I think autumn and spring are great for a convertible - heated seats on and it’s a really nice way to enjoy the car all year round.

4k Phaeteon diesel. Looks a bit dinged but MOT history not too bad.

Love a Phaeteon - Don't know a vast amount about the 'risk factor' of the diesel - but there's something telling me to give this one a swerve.

Although having said that - the MOT history reads surprisingly well!

Well I've spent all day cleaning the interior of the FFRR focusing on the carpets, soiled surfaces and rubber door shuts. Good grief it's cavernous and has taken me about six hours to throughly clean -- nooks and crannies and all.

I've yet to clean the visible leather and condition -- including the leather dash and also clean and dress the windows with a hydrophobic coating in time for winter.

Nevertheless, very satisfying to have finally eliminated evidence of previous ownership.

Yes also I thought it was a gimmick but this airscarf thing is actually very good at making thing seem warm and cosy.

Looking at this photo I don't think the pricing is suspicious.

Mrs 316 loves the airscarf heated seat combo in her r172, I'm amazed it never caught on in other convertibles

The Volvo is absolutely battered... which in fairness the dealer does say. Plus they've taken photos of all the damage.
It also needs a new MOT in less than a month.

I think it would be an ok car for someone, if you're not precious about how your car looks.

The S211 isn't my thing....I'm sure Macron will like it though, as he loves an old 4 cylinder diesel.

That's some good work there. I put some genuine rubber mats in for the winter which I've since left in year round as we have a static caravan in Burnham on sea and I don't want sand getting embedded in the original Matt's. I've sent mine off to have any rust cut out and fresh paint both sides buy a friend at a price I couldn't refuse so hopefully it's back next week looking like new again.

Must admit I'm pretty tempted to get some different mats for winter. Cream mats don't look great in winter! I'm not sure whether black or charcoal/dark grey mats would suit all year round, the dash top and too of the door cards are a dark grey..... Decisions! Official Lexus carpet mats are about £100 or so, not sure if they do rubber ones!

Good work sir!
I know thread is divided on any kind of cleaning chat but this is great work Michael and I enjoy seeing it.

That allows me to segue nicely to update on my own deep cleaning today; the alcantara sections of my steering wheel didn’t really look right and I actually thought it had been retrimmed in contrast leather such was the finish. A bit of research however and it was clear that it was just likely to never have been cleaned properly and all the fibres had been matted smooth and caked in grime. Beautiful.

Anyway, a solid 20 minutes elbow grease per side resulted in an absolute transformation and it’s now a joy to (be)hold smile

Very satisfying.

Also lubed the pano-roof (just in time for winter) and slotted in some genuine winter mats to save the nice carpet ones.

How did you lube the roof? I've used my sunroof twice since getting the car, I really should get the drain holes cleared out just in case. I spent about an hour cleaning my interior today (cleaned it the other week, but today I just used a leather balm thing - takes forever when there's leather almost everywhere), and fitted a new front number plate after the MOT advisory....it was looking very grotty to be fair. LS460 has had a bit of love the last week, and wheels being refurbished Monday.

I wouldn't see the lack of sat nav as a problem, the original unit is useless now.

It looks decent, I've had my 2.0T Aero estate for 6 years and can't fault it. Ride is rubbish, there isn't much space in the back and the interior can throw the odd squeak/rattle but otherwise it's been great.

The Saab specialist I use hates the 2.8, tight engine bay which gets very hot meaning brittle plastics that love to break when you (inevitably) need to start replacing parts.
