I haven’t had a dateless plate before and was about to purchase YIW 997 to go on a 911 (997 model) but then read this thread and found out it was a N.I plate.

I thought it was too cheap when I looked at dvla, and I just assumed plates with these first three letters were English plates.

So general consensus is these type of plates are a bit crappy?

Edited to add, I made a bid on eBay, got turned down, realised it was on dvla site for £200 less. Thought about purchasing this morning and it’s disappeared and in the hands of the eBay seller..... I am clearly too slow at this game!

Some do look ok. OIL, BIG etc. But in general they look out of place (to me). Sometimes being slow can be advantageous. laugh
