As it's Friday tomorrow I thought I'd share that eBay listing for a crusty W210 estate that's showing you can get a lot of junk in the trunk:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403028199157?hash=item5...
If I'm reading the advert correctly, the original owner paid over €100k for that car?https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403028199157?hash=item5...
Looks like everyone got a TV too!

300E: 3.0 12v 180 bhp
300E - 24: 3.0 24v dohc 220 bhp
320E: 3.2 24v also 220 bhp but much more torque
The 300 was the top of the range before being briefly joined by the 300-24, then they were both replaced by the 320 which was used across the range.
The 300E-24 is essential if you're into bootlid top trumps. 300E - 24: 3.0 24v dohc 220 bhp
320E: 3.2 24v also 220 bhp but much more torque

The S124 is one of those cars where the estate form looks better? That depth of the tailgate glass gives the impression of good rearward vision. While the back end is bigger, it looks neater and better resolved?

Have we had this one?

That is a great find, the pinnacle of barge value purchases. Also, we almost never seem to have ads from PH, either. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11863769

I have to admit I always forget about searching PH classified for cars. I usually start at autotrader or ebay, or sometimes gumtree (but I think gumtree ads are on ebay) and then it's too late to try anywhere else, as I have already spent way too much time deep in the autotrader or ebay rabbit hole and a loser has to sleep sometime.
The frustrating thing about PH is that the alert is very inconsistent.

The advert for the 24V W124 with Strasbourg in the photos states it has a V6.
Which it definitely doesn't have - it's an IL6.It also claims to have non working "massage seats" but to be pedantic, they're "orthopaedic seats" which provide a few extra air bladders that can be inflated accordingly giving extra lumbar support - they aren't active massage seats in the modern sense of the word.
Still it's a lovely thing.

Plus casually throwing in a pic of a Countach in front of it ...
I think there’s a red Lambo in another image? That seller has another 6 vehicles listed, but not a trader?
Still, Horley isn’t that far away if anyone wants me to look it over and suck through my (remaining) teeth repeatedly.

I found another chart on the internet measuring hirsuteness but that would get a red card even on a Friday!

Does anybody have any experience of battery booster things?
SL is almost flat (not enough power to turn over) and is out of reach of charger and can't get battery out of car.
Is the Screwfix thing up to the job (I know it says 2.5l...) or are there any other relatively affordable options out there?
https://www.screwfix.com/p/streetwize-500a-promo-p...
And yes, it is called Streetwize with a z.
Many thanks,
ETA.
Maybe this is a safer bet.

It's for this reason the E500 and CL600 etc hold such appeal me. Badge top trumps. Nice
Carinaman, estates almost always look better!
The 500 trumps all others in the W124 takes, obviously. I’d also agree that the correct approach is no model badge at all. Carinaman, estates almost always look better!
I cite again the Audi V8 which was so understated it could not even be ordered with badges!

The advice not to jump start 129s (I think you’re referring to one here?) is much repeated, on pain of frying various control units, in particular the roof modules. That said, I was dismayed to see from afar my 95 SL being jumped when I collected it from auction, but it survived without issue. If you can get a CTEK or similar attached either to the battery or under the bonnet it would be my preferred option. SL is almost flat (not enough power to turn over) and is out of reach of charger and can't get battery out of car.
