I might have posted OAT 1 on a Jag Xj, and now a FFRR, but this thing was in front of me recently and I got chatting to the chaps driving it. The company has the full range of OAT plates and this truck goes to Carfest North, among other things, to serve people their oats, first thing in the morning.
OAT 1 is an original issue. 1 OAT was £10,000 plus VAT/Fees in 2007.SKiwi said:
No time to look all through these topics but I presume you all know who had FU2 back in the day ? forget the car - maybe a Bentley ? http://www.cherished-number-plates.co.uk/cherished... I also remember A1 belonging to 1 of the car companies - Rover maybe ?
Welcome! Nice to see a newbe asking about decent plates rather than posting a chavplate & being shot down in flames....As someone else has confirmed, A1 was owned by Dunlop. The full history is here:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A1_registration_plateIt's not been seen for many years, unfortunately, and I haven't seen a photo of it after the late 70's Mini.
EDIT - 5 minutes after writing this I came across OGR4Ms picture of it on a Rover Sterling! Anyone have anything later?

Unfortunately not. About 5 years ago, I saw it on the Black BMW MINI driving in to the owners driveway. If I'd known there were no pics of it, I'd definitely have got a pic....assuming the security team would have let me! Because they wanted to? It's a Phaeton so a nice thing.
It frustrates me that people think nice plates should be on nice cars. Not the case.
Hold up! You say "Phaeton so a nice thing", but then you go and contradict yourself in the next sentenceIt frustrates me that people think nice plates should be on nice cars. Not the case.
Where do you actually stand?
Furthermore you have missed point -doesn't matter if it is a UP ! or Phaeton .My point was simply why the protocol changed?
"Because they wanted to?" No , no ,no ,no - you must embrace curiosity and wonder! - and not simplicity and indifference.Otherwise last one out turn off the lights please.
Perhaps Jags/RRovers were unreliable ? too conspicuous?, too expensive ?
Interesting video for anyone on Facebook.
