Trust me, it isn't. I did many many miles in a bread van Polo in my youth. Horrible cockroaches of the road.
My brother had one that refused to die. Quite joyless to drive.

Had one many years ago as a temp car while rebuilding a BMW 2002tii.
Useful as I could get an engine crane in the back but it didn't like a quick run up the A69.
Holed a piston, but it ran a quickly on 3!
I then had 2 cars to repair but managed to do the piston with the engine in place.

You got to see the bonnet, boot and doors all open at once. What more do you need to see?! Trifling things, like what the exterior of the car actually looks like?

Not sure where to post about this, but my brother has just bought himself a summer run around: a 15 year old, 180k Alfa GTV twinspark. For £500.

I'm so proud. biggrin

I forgot, soz. It's silver and a little careworn if that helps.

So close to calling this guy, he lives close to me as well! For the money I don't think anything would beat it.

Posted this on the barge thread but it must be worth a second post even though slightly over budget.

Always had a soft spot for one of these. Lot of car for the money IMO

This looks delightfully 'old-money'.

But the interior is awful and it has that horrible looking completely out of place orange thing on the front. A standard Rover 25 GTI would be better looking and cheaper. An Mg ZR160 would be a better car all round.

With the throttle body from the MG the 200 BRM would be the best of the three.

However if you really want a plain version of that car but with the VVC engine, the Rover 200vi must be the best.
