Lego sell the unimog directly, get a mini mog while you are there as well.

When I get a chance I'll upload the pictures of a scale modelled Scammell Explorer my dad created about a year or so back from no plans, just a corgi model and army experience is what helped to create it iirc.
It weighs about 3.5kg to so alot of Lego, 6 wheel drive and correct axle articulation too! biggrin
So just a couple of months have gone by since posting this but this is what happens when you rely on a useless sister (no pics)

For some reason my computer isn't letting me load up the pictures so if anybody would allow me to send them some would they be able to post them?
There are only 6 so far so nothing too major, I just like to finish what I start.

I want the Unimog however struggling to find one as there are no decent toy/model shops in the Gloucester area (ToysRus dont sell it) & the prices on Amazon & Ebay are ridiculous.
Still available here at £145 http://www.youngworld.co.uk/acatalog/TECHNIC.html.

Right then, just about to start the flatbed truck, my first Lego in over 30 yrs.

Was thinking the bags would be numbered, seems not, is it just a case of opening the lot and making a big, scrap that, ginormous pile and just work from that.

Unimog to do after this bad boy, thought id start off small.

You are almost right. You need to empty the bag onto a table, select half a dozen small pieces, put one under the fridge, 2 down the side of the sofa cushion and feed the rest to the nearest children and/or dog. Then start building.

That's what I did with the same model. Complete pain in the arse to begin with, but once the parts go on, it gets a lot easier.

After reading this thread a while back, I was at Toys R Us yesterday with my daughter and happened to see the 8109 Flatbed truck so I bought it.

Started building it last night around 7pm and finished it just after 2am! Wife wasn't happy.

Quite enjoyed building it, I think there will have to be further purchases in the near future.

Following building my Unimog over xmas I noticed that John Lewis have started to sell what looks like a mini mog (actually sold as a recovery truck). I bought the mini mog for my son as a present to hopefully stop him wanting to play with mine!

I saw this today and immediately thought of this thread...

http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2012/05/insanely-detailed...

It's custom built but if it gets 10,000 votes there's a chance it'll be made!

Check out the Eurobricks forum if you like the Land Rover.
Have seen some incredible creations on there including a Bugatti Veyron, a Porsche Turbo, a classic Mini and even an automatic Rubik Cube solver.

Just finished the Unimog, and I'm about to start the new 4x4 my son got for Christmas. Anyone else get more Technic for Christmas?

Been trying to find somewhere local (Argos/ToysRus) to pick up the Unimog today, or somewhere online that will deliver it tomorrow with no luck frown
