They presumably enjoy it and it doesn't look particularly dangerous. I fair to see the problem?

As has been said, the stuff in the video is not vip, but has a different name that I can't recall.

'converaste japanese socity, so they do all those stuff'

this of course, can you not reed man wink

I think they mean 'conservative society' - so they do things against the norm, essentially in some kind of rebellion

ah, conservative! Sorry my anagrammatical brain function didn't come up with that one!

I saw a VIP car today, now I know what I'm looking for. A big Merc AMG (debadged obviously) with two big old chrome exhaust tips, and suspension so low that it the car sort of resembled that old Citroen that had those bodywork panels over the wheels. That said, since it was on AMG wheels which are not aftermarket, it might not have been a VIP car, but merely an old Merc with knackered suspension.

Perhaps VIP is catching on in the UK!

Jesus there are some right boring s on this thread, what happened to appreciating something thats different or individual or does everyone have to conform to bland silver stbox mobile bks? ,gotta love them wacky racers! Love em or hate em they are better than some "sport" sheeple saloon scenes. Some of them VIP are nicely done too. Lots of skill time and money invested unlike some things..

Bosozuko gangs who make and run these cars are not at all fun.

I went to Tokyo Auto Salon this year and they fill the car parks.

I wanted to take video and pictures but was discouraged from getting too close to them.

They might not be tough, but they are violent and confrontational people.

They are into crime and often are paid by other groups to carry out organised crime.

The car scene is Japan is unlike here. You don't get fan boys - it's all or nothing and rival factions do exist. It's not unheard of Bosozuko members being paid to go and smash up a drift car clubs cars for example.

There is vast interest in their cars on the Internet, but I would imagine they are completely ignorant to the interest and would probably see it as people taking the piss rather than trying to ingratiate to the style.

Just because it's different doesn't mean it's great.

I don't think he was suggesting it was great but he makes a valid point that there are people who are incredibly critical of these Bosozuku and VIP cars because they are radically different to the established norm. It is odd that on the one hand you can be critised for having a silver german car and lack of imagination and be critised for building something altogether more unique.

I quite like the wide arches an wide wheels stance of the Bosozoku/VIP and am starting to get very bored of people on PH describing lowered cars as having broken suspension- very tiring especially from people who apparently cannot understand the concept of air suspension an on the car adjustable ride height kits.

however outlandish it may look, I always find (personally) that the japanese just seem to get the style 'right', unlike other places like europe/spain etc.. its always finished to a good standard.

IMO, "VIP" is utterly cack. There is nothing "very important" about some cheap bling on an old Lexus.

Bazouku (sp?), on the other hand - I think that's great! Taking the whole "styling" thing and ripping the piss out of it, some of the "beyond DTM" exhausts are so daft it hurts, and every cartoonist has drawn splitters and rear wings like that.

I have no idea if the theory that they are all gangsters is right, it's possible, but I doubt that any car modded like that wouldgo hand in hand with crime - hard to blend in, eh?
