I think it has potential, I mean, if a Pinto fits, surely a YB can be squeezed in for a mental grin factor hehe

Rip out that horrid interior and dash though, OMG, that is fowl.
The lower front valance doesn't help the front end one bit. Without that, I don't think it would be as bad. The rear end is "ok" though.

Oh, and ditch those horrid MKV 'tina door mirrors and the steering wheel.

I'm a bit confused over the partial frameless windows lol
Exactly. Put in some sports bucket seats and harnesses and maybe a mini dash using an electronic rev counter on a mini aluminium dash.

I'm sure it can be made to handle ok if it doesn't already. And even a modded Pinto lump would be fine in it, 2.1 litres maybe. But it doesn't weigh much.

I'm with you on this one. Surely every village had a nutter back in the 70s with a Cortina\Herald\beetle based kit car that looked overwhelmingly glorious to an 8 year old?

Nova anyone?

I REALLY want one of those!

The only reason you hate it is because it's different, it doesn't conform. You then lable this and dress it up as though you're being superior by claiming hate hate hate.
Amateur psychologist as well 300, do your talents know no bounds?

Hate is too strong a word tbh, as it assumes an emotional response that doesn't occur. I dislike the vehicle as it appears to be nothing more than a badly engineered, badly built, hideously styled and vomit inducingly trimmed rip off of cars such as the Lotus Eclat/Excel and Lamborgini Urraco. I see absolutely no redeeming features at all.

Personally I like to take things on their own merits and judge accordingly, rather than fawn over every monstrosity that appears on here in the name of "non conformity" and dismiss anything that is more mainstream as a "white good".

So why am I not surprised that you failed to answer what car you drive?

+1 Was determined to have a nice Nova "one day", when I was a student. Still looks good thirty years on, IMO just not sure I could get in and out of one now biggrin

When I look at that Hornet thing I keep getting images of Fred West in the driving seat.

I think the rear end is a little more DeLorean/Esprit than Espada. Best to avoid the 360 view though.

Don't know?

Possibly because it's about as relevant to the discussion that we are having as me asking you how tall you are?

For a thousands pounds I think that it's worth buying for comedy value. It would be worth that to show your friends that interior.

SWoll, do you have a point? You seem to be following Matt about to have a go. You've contributed nothing to this thread. Your first post was an attempt at making fun of him, since then, you've just argued, pointlessly.
If you would care to read back through the thread my inital post was just a bit of light hearted banter following on from the recent "headturners" thread.

Since then point I have just been responding to 300's standard issue generalisations and overarching sense of superiority that have become his signature over the years on PH.

You do seem to feel the need to jump to his defence regularly though. Any particular reason?

Good Lord that's shocking!

But hilarious! I've been laughing at it for ten minutes. biglaugh

That interior is truly the most embarrassingly bad thing I have ever seen. You would need some seriously thick skin to take that out in public!

Having said that, it looks better than that awful "Ferrari" abomination from a couple of days ago...

I also see potential. Massive tidy up and a nice clean silver met paint job. Raid some parts bin for nicer rear lights to fit the shape of the rear, as it has a very nice overall shape. Remodel the rear bumper to taper underneath more and cut out the centre section and in it's place, put a diffuser.

Round the sides, better wheels and spacers and sort out the glass house and wingmirrors. Around the front remove all unnecessary lighting and place under a new modern shaped plastic mesh. Sort out the pop up headlamps and re fit them so their flush.

The interior I would have a whole dashboard made from carbon fibre and holes cut for individual smart round dials, plus some Audi A4 convertible round vents. The same with the door cards, a nice slab of carbon fibre, ala CLK DTM. The trans tunnel would also be carbon with a steel gate ala Lamborghini style and smart simple aluminium handbrake and stick. Change the seats for some Rercaro OEM look leather items.

Replace the engine some high power Jap 4 pot. Sort out drivetrain also with good quality items.

Massive potential for a unique car, if only I had the money, space and time.
