RE: Driven: Artega GT
Discussion
Got to say I like it
Someone appears to have applied some thought to creating a genuinely stylish drivers car for road use. Its not insane, its not been designed for the track, it uses an existing proven drive train and I love the dashboard and simple features like the rear view mirror sat nav.
Doubt I'll ever get the chance due to rarity but I'd love to drive it!

My girlfriend keeps our 111R in Germany just down the road from the Artega factory. Theres a fabulous dark blue one parked just around the corner from us.
They do look top notch in the flesh and sound awesome if you get caught snoozin and buzzed at light speed on the autobahn!
Try to find one in the UK though? Check the DVLA register cos I don't think there's a single one UK side of the channel...

That looks great and sounds terrific. Maybe needs a couple of turbos?
That what I was thinking .. http://www.vagtech.co.uk/index.php/hgp-turbo495 bhp with twin turbo's would make it around 450 bhp per ton
After reading the article seeing the price I can't help thinking one of the major manufacturers needs to get into this market. Rather than produce a so-so car like the the TT or Z4 a few might want to try a car like this but with the economies of scale that they can manage.
That Audi R4 they registered and showed as an electric concept would have ben just such but I suppose its dead now?

German reviewer even mentions the Evora. Great sound and moving footage here.

Are you American by any chance? Anyway, he's not German, he's Danish...http://youtu.be/CRGvo8_SrHE
He's saying that car costs £210.000 and that it's too much compared to the Cayman and Evora by the way.
I had a little testdrive also this year in a second hand blue Artega GT wich is for sale there.

it is a very easy car to drive, I've never driven anything like SMG or DSG or DKG or whatever, so that was a bit "scary" but it was so smooth...almost to smooth, but the ride is very good, a good feel and connected to you and around you, the car could easely handle more power, at least 450hp or so, it felt very good/strong. (and they are looking at supercharging it)
the interior on pics is euh...strange not so nice? but in the flesh its ok, the seats are "perfect" and the sit/steer is very good, I like also the short overhangs and the chunky looks.
also the new models have the navi no more in the mirror but in the dash/console and some other updates wich also can bemade into the "older" models.
good story btw.

Apologies, Yes I'm American, from Utah.
It's a junior super car for near enough super car money.
Have in mind that Denmark is the country in the world where you pay the most for a car. It's usually three times as much as it would cost in UK and Germany to buy a car regardless of make and model, due to "hypocritical" taxes. It's a junior super car for near enough super car money.
Denmark wants to be the forerunner when it comes to the enviroment, however, the taxes makes it hard for a lot of people to buy a brand new car, letting them get stuck with a 15 year old or more POS-car which obviously isn't near as "green" as a new one.
