Women's money bag. I've never met a bloke with a leather bag designed to carry coins. You ghey.

Its a manly money bag! Its big with room for lots of coins. A womans purse is something which is too small for the function for which she intended it for and was always due for a clearout six months before she actually does it.

I've noticed this a lot more, it's a pain. It doesn't actually go onto ".00" at all, from ".99" straight to ".01". To be honest I've never been to a garage where they've got pissy about the penny.

That said, if I can help it I prefer to just brim the tank every week. Far easier to do that and forget about it.

I was in the queue behind a retard who was arguing about the eternal penny the other day. He turned purple and swore a lot...

Oh, how we laughed...hehe

It depends how your paying I suppose, if on your card then it's not really a problem and makes no difference. If by cash then it can be a pain but I am noticing a lot of petrol station have a little pot on the counter full of coppers, and they pay the odd penny. smile

How nice of them hehe

I hardly think he was bothered about the penny, more like he was bothered about breaking his £20 and having to carry £19.99 in his farahs.

Money? Cash? Coins?
What's wrong with a good old-fashioned debit or credit card?

I don't remember the last time I used cash to pay for fuel.

I've noticed this at my local, I've put it down to the rising fuel prices! I can get it to 99, and the tinyest input sees the price jump 2p furious

The trick is to keep a few pennies in your ashtray yes

Try getting to the nearest € abroad! The more 'whatevers' it is per litre the harder it is, so it's only going to get worse...

Must be a nightmare for those with 'pump OCD' in Vietnam, just the 32,600 Dong to the £

Don't worry chaps, it'll be a lot easier when petrol hits £2/litre.

Different opinions & all that but I use cash for everything I can, I've always hated the average high street bank & have as little to do with them as possible.

But that's the point, the op could hit .00 on the button before the refurb & now he can't. I have found the same at my local after their refurb & it has been driving me nuts. I've stopped it on the .00 once since & when I put the nozzle back it jumped to .01. furious

It's a conspiracy I tells ya.

I've experienced this a lot suddenly in the last year or two.. always had no problem stopping on a nice round £20/£30 but now always seem to end up a penny over!

And have also experienced the pump stopping at £20.00 and then as the nozzle goes back, rolling over to £20.01... one can't help but think they are trying to diddle us!

I used to try to get it to a round number, but then I had a light bulb moment. I always pay with a card. Who cares???

smile

I like the idea of delaying the money getting to the government though. Nice idea.

At the new Tescos around here, you just type in how much moneys worth you want in the tank and voila, there we go.
About time this was introduced everywhere, really can't believe it's taken so long.

Doesn't Shell have a 1p jar? ie if you go to 20.01 dont worry about it there is a spare penny in the jar.

So just shop at Shell.

So what happens if you type 50 quid and it doesn't fit?

Well, what can I say - just put £25 in this morning at a local Texaco, without being under or over.
Put same or £30 in at Tesco off the North Circular, and £12 at a Total at Tamworth Services.
That would seem to suggest pumps on the mainland are no different from Northern Ireland's, and likewise in the South, when putting €xx .
Heck, I'd no issue putting .xx cents in too, to get rid of them - so I really can't appreciate how others are struggling to put in a round amount.
