I'd buy one if I could afford it, regardless of age, sexuality, height or singleness

I'm 35 and would have one in a instant. What's not to like FFS.
what so if you actually had the money, that is what you would choose over all others?
You're looking at it wrong. Dec is rich, he's not going to be worrying about it too much.

Not quite 31 and top of my list when I become wealthy. The wife wants a GranCabrio as well.

I personally think it's a very discrete choice.

That's the perfect colour spec! I'd have one, fanstastic looking car.

I had a 4200GT at 29 and was seriously considering a Quattroporte just did not need the extra doors at the time!

Odd thread.

23 and would have a Gran Turismo over the equivalent Jag or Aston.

Old mans car? Seriously?
Interesting as I bought my new Aston V8 Vantage over the Gran Turismo or Jag - and i'm 24.

Cool car that he can use every day around London if he wishes. More discrete than a Ferrari.

They sound awesome too.

Good choice in my opinion for someone who doesn't have to worry too much about running costs.

Reckon the OP is seriously out on his own on this one. hehe
Struggling to think of an occasion on PH where consensus opinion has been more emphatic!

Just to add my weight to the tidal wave, I'm of a similar age to the specified celeb (no idea who he is by the way) and I cannot think of another car that meets my needs and desires as well as a Maserati GranTurismo. I'd have one in a heart-beat...

ok having now seen every other colour than what declan bought, I would like to change my mind - it does look pretty tasty in some of those pics.

getmecoat

The reason for the thread is because, in all seriousness, it does strike me as 'an older mans car'. Hard to explain why. Just seems more 'mature' and less 'fun'. Still looks a bit 'hefty' too tongue out

Dynamically not that brilliant and an awful gearbox in the one I drove, paddles almost seemed to be for decoration! They're also quite heavy and tyres don't seem to last long. However...

Some people drive point to point, flat out on B roads with a big grin on their face. Those people would drive loads of different cars and pick the one they liked best. Some like good looks, a nice noise and some comfy chairs. Those people tend to be recommended cars by others. Seems like Dec is the latter and has chosen / been recommended reasonably well. Silver though? Not feeling it.
