Jimmy Savile's Range Rover Carawagon up for auction
Discussion
Blimey - I always thumb through father dearest's Practical Classics, and about 2 years ago this very same Rangie was for sale... for £1,500! I remember it clearly, it was with a dealer and was advertised month-in-month-out without being sold, for at least 6 months I think, gradually getting discounted. In desperation the dealer was even offering to fit some spare RR rear seats that he had lying around so it was more usable!
I was kinda tempted by it to tell truth. Reliability (and London parking options) aside, it would have literally been a Practical Classic with a quirky talking point to boot. The £10-15k value appreciation would have been pretty handy n'all...

Nothing quite as obvious as someone cashing in on a recent celebrity death!I was kinda tempted by it to tell truth. Reliability (and London parking options) aside, it would have literally been a Practical Classic with a quirky talking point to boot. The £10-15k value appreciation would have been pretty handy n'all...
The last one went for under £6k, I doubt this one will make much more.
It sold again in January 2011, I guess bought by the current owner.

I can't quite see how it's risen by £13,500 in a year, perhaps I'm missing something.
