£80k for a high power, low weight sportscar handmade in Britain that doesn't really have any competitors isn't *really* that bad. Porsche will charge you a lot more with a few choice options for a car designed wholly to maximise profit, not to put a grin on your face...
Exactly. If cost is the problem - also consider the resale value. The Porsche will start to look like a very bad idea.
I sold my Aero 8 last year and it's the second biggest car mistake I've made. The biggest was losing my shirt on a Porsche !
It is lovely.
Just lovely.
I am also a massive fan of the Aero series. My only, only, wish is that rather than mess around with variants of the Supersport, they merely fixed the headlights. The Aero uses 2nd generation Mini headlights. It is obvious where they come from. Surely alternatives could be found.
So, because of this problem, I 'd take the Plus 8.

Whether or not you like their cars, you have to admire Morgan; full order books and a waiting list for the last 3 decades, (something no other British sports car manufacturer could dream of) and characterful cars, which have 'developed' slowly with a visible lineage dating back to pre Hitler war cars; amusing that the 911 (and predecesors), is also a car that has also been 'developed' over a similar period. Porsche have managed to develope the soul out; Morgan have enriched it; quite a trick in the face of the legislation they have to comply with.
I'm not a potential Morgan buyer; not my sort of car, but I seriously respect what they have done and how they have flourished where others have failed; an English success story to be proud of!
Bravo Charles Morgan and workforce!!

+1. Makes Porsches seem rather 'white goods', I must say. I'm not a potential Morgan buyer; not my sort of car, but I seriously respect what they have done and how they have flourished where others have failed; an English success story to be proud of!

Nice but If I wanted something quirky from Malvern to put a smile on my face I would spend £35K on the 3 wheeler and spend the difference in something else.
How much is a second hand Weisseman?
We, the people of PH demand that Harris or Riggers is given a 3-Wheeler as their only mode of transport over the summer. How much is a second hand Weisseman?
first class effort - love it - happy memories of motoring to Le Mans and back in the late 90's (before the chavs and les flics ruined the le mans experience) in a colleagues +8 with an old school trunk strapped to the back for our kit. such fun and everyone, absolutely everyone loved it and were happy to move over and be blasted off the road by it.
bravo Morgan
bravo Morgan

I won't suggest that in pure objective terms it deserves the same page space as a new 911. But I will suggest that anyone who wants to approach this car in such bleak, unemotional terms probably doesn't get it anyway.
I couldn't agree more. Though I am another Malvernernian and as such morally obliged to approve of all and any Morgan activity. I really like the modernised traditional styling, but my one wish is that they would produce a car in the spirit of the +4+, but I suppose that isn't really in the business model, and that is fair enough.
