Cars that attract: Respect / Attention / Knobs / Nobody
Discussion
I made the mistake of getting the full sticker kit on my Abarth 500. I get knobs every single day trying to race me as I stick to the speed limit and just drive normal. Worst offenders are repmobiles and van drivers, they seem very offended by my car and will do what it takes to get in front of me to make them feel better

Leon FR. Indifference (rightly so) from everyone except some Golf GTI drivers that are possesed to prove their car is better.
Sad thing is nearly every other Leon I see, usually with the stupid BTCC kit, is being driven ridiculously. So I'm sure a fair few do the same the other way.
Agree with this. Every time i see a performance seat it's being badly driven. No idea why this is.Sad thing is nearly every other Leon I see, usually with the stupid BTCC kit, is being driven ridiculously. So I'm sure a fair few do the same the other way.

In my van no one notices or comments, in my F150 I get plenty of comments, probably 95% positive with plenty of "how many gallons to the mile?" & the odd "I didn't know Harley Davidson made trucks!"
I thought exactly the same thing when I first saw it - beautiful truck! Jaaaag XJR (X308) - Generally most people seem to quite like it, get a lot of positive comments, respect on the motorways and people letting me out at junctions. The only exception I've noticed is in traffic with occasional frustrated-looking small hatchback drivers, who seem quite keen to prove something while staring stonily ahead. Like the peasant cow in a Peugeot 307 that actually raced forward from a standstill to block a box junction just because she saw me approaching from a side street.
Various BMWs/Audi/Mercs over the years - Generally found the rep-mobile types never got let out of junctions but also seemed to get dawdlers to move over quickly on the motorway. Interestingly, the higher models seemed to enjoy more anonymity, at least the ones without Xenon/LED christmas trees on front.
New Fiat 500 - Had one of these for a while when it first came out and it was a lot of fun. Lots of smiles and waves though did get pulled out on constantly.
Golf TDI - Welcome to the Borg collective

did he still think that when he came round?
Don't think the two individuals in question ever fully recovered Seriously though, the first was at a local gala day where I was displaying my car, he did seem genuinely shocked when I responded simply with "good"
The second one was actaully shouted at me whilst I sat in traffic waiting at a set of lights - I decided to play the 'better man' and simply ignored said scrote, he was probably drunk being sat outside a bar and all
I do often get tailgated on the road when I am simply pootling round obeying the posted speed limit, people seem to think that having a performance car means that you have to break the limit at every opportunity.
DB9, it's practically hero worshiped, other cars just move out of your way and give a thumbs up when you pass, people ask to get their picture taken with it regularly and never had a negative comment. It just seems to command respect, love it.
Range Rover, not a lot, a few thats a big beast or nice motor. Just a car really, lovely place to eat up the motor-way miles in though, rep mobiles etc just get out of the way.
Jag XK gets the odd good comments, women seem to like it a lot for some reason.
430, best just take it out at night when there is no one around. Got rid quickly.
DB5, gone now sadly. Never took her out much for obvious reasons. Strange mix, most people just looked at it curiously, those in the know just about crashed when looking at it. Sat in a cafe across from where it was parked outside a few times, people would just stop and spend an age walking round her and looking in, any comments tended to almost uttered with a hushed reverence, from those in the know it tended to be "that is simple stunning" or "oh my God, is that really a DB5" etc.

7 series - most places no attention at all, i get some odd comments though pulling up in the students area for our clinic car park, or if i have to park amongst the riff-raff....the big students car park a 3rd year student was walking with me and a friend just this thursday, i got into my car and later she asked her mate who was with us whether i was a young lecturer
Don't get much in my MR2, a lot more in the company car though
Most of the time its "girls car" which I don't get the point in. Apart from one lovely young thing who you'd have done time to who was very complementary about the toyota, then she noticed its registration began with an N and suddenly lost any interest. Before hand it was "I love your car you have to take me for a ride" then "Your car is a death trap."...whats that old saying, so close yet so far?

R5 GT Turbo july year 2000,
B list celeb reaction from chavs when the dump valve erm dumped.
Symphephy (god knows how to spell it) from other road users when the car was in the parking space of the local petrol station blowing clouds of white smoke from the exhaust (i was topping up the oil with a litre of Essos finest mineral oil) "Oh ive had one of these etc etc." Apreciated when the cars running well, but not when i'm loking at a £350 bill.
