Go for a 4th gen - bette car.
Unlike a 928, these are cheap to run (petrol excluded) and reliable. there have been more chevy small blocks made than any other engine.
Yeh, a 928 for £5k is surely asking for trouble! From what I know about the Camaro they are pretty reliable, if a little agricultural! At least the one for sale looks fairly original - apart from the radio!Unlike a 928, these are cheap to run (petrol excluded) and reliable. there have been more chevy small blocks made than any other engine.

There's plenty of American cars I'd spend £5k on, but that's not one of them. Hate that shape and the motor strugles to pump out 240bhp. On the upside, generating only 40 odd BHP per litre means it should go to the moon and back with regular oil and water changes! ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
From what I read this 5.7L pumps out 270hp. Still not a lot for the size of the thing though. My 320d is probably faster ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)
What else would you rather have for 5k? Me and my business partner are having a 'buy a silly car for 5k' challenge and I want to go american. That was the most interesting I could find at this budget that is going to be semi useable and a bit of a laugh.

Up your budget a little and go for a proper bit of American V8 muscle.

Just look at that engine bay, and it's a manual.

An excellent alternative. Better handling but not a great deal more power for that year. The advert is a bit odd thought, a 1994 'G' reg???? By twinport they must mean Tune Port Injection. It's too old to be an LT1 car. hmmmmm now we're talking!!! Mind you, I reckon £5,000 is a little steep for that black Camaro, be interesting to talk offers... They prob don't know what it is!! But a poor advert could be an advantage to a savvy buyer! I'm guessing the mileage is astronomical too, plus... THAT interior!?!Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
