I dare say the Beebs liability insurance would cover it - especially as Chris is an employee.
Personally, for me it wouldn't be about the car being insured. Something that rare and special, i'd be gutted if it got 'pranged'. Even my TVR rarely gets test drives by friends, regardless of Insurance.
Of course. That goes without saying. But it's reassuring to know that you'd have the finest coachbuilders at your disposal should some fettling be required.

Of course, if it did take a knock - forsaking the puritanical grip on the car - the temptation to use it as a track-car instead of a coveted queen would be immense.

I pass this spot a minimum of twice a day - and the cars around it are often parked there. Whilst I don't know, I'd suggest it was likely he had to parallel park.
Is it is a reserved space?
Nope. Have to pay as well - plenty of wardens about.

IS he actually a Beeb employee, or is he a "contractor"? (genuine question)

A really decent guy, I met him at kop-hill last year.

He was just looking around the paddock having a chat with fellow petrol heads. thumbup

Agree with many others regarding Chris Evans - by all accounts he is meant to be a really pleasant and genuine chap! He always comes across well and seems to be perfectly happy to chat to anyone.

He has a nice selection of cars and a very decent lifestyle so I guess he has a lot to be happy about.

Also isn't that Maserati one of the widest cars available? somewhere in the region of 7ft wide or thereabouts?

Credit where credit is due - well done that man for driving around in it.

So Chris Evans - I'm sure you've read some of this will you post up the traditional pic of custard and your chubby chase....

Or actually rather than that why not say a phrase on your radio show? From suggestion here?
Let's get the ball rolling

Let's say you start a discussion somehow on which is better F40 or F50 and what is your personal choice.

Not much of a fan of that car, his S1 Lotus Esprit is rather nice though.

What cars does he have currently?
I thought he was a Ferrari man only apart from this deviation?

Oh right, it's just odd that this particular space is usually free and thus he must of reversed parked...
Wonder if that car is easy enough to live with in traffic, despite the size.

Majority are contractors I believe, Moyles etc and paid through their own companies. I suspect he will be the same. I believe presenters on TV are PAYE but could be wrong on this one.

'Pistonated'

Get that in a few times on the show on Monday Chris.

e.g 'Did loads of driving in the cars on the weekend and I'm now completely pistonated'

Through some very ballsy decisions made in his career.
His autobiographies are well worth a read.
