One of the guys in the Essex area of the Westfield Sports Car Club had fitted a towbar to his Westfield (a navy blue SE), so he could tow a trailer loaded up with things like a gas BBQ to Le Mans and back.

Think he made it detachable so he could remove the tow-bar when it wasn't needed.

Sadly I can't find any pictures.

There was a recent post on here with a photo of an Audi Sport Quattro (SWB) towing a trailer with an..... Audi Sport Quattro rally car on the back.
Just tracked down the photo from the previous thread for those who didn't see it:

That's my winner anyway.

do I win?

That trailer's hideous. I didn't think I could have an opinion on trailers, but apparently I can. Urgh.

I've seen an Opel Manta rally car tow another car on a trailer (a Maestro) to an event, both cars competed and then the Manta towed the Maestro home. It was back in the early 90s on a Scottish Tarmac event.
