RE: SOTW: Subaru SVX
Discussion
The editor of Practical Performance car recently bought one of these. I bet he/they brake or do something silly to it in the next few months.
Personal I like the SVX, yes it is a bit over the top and it's not a aged well. I feel it look bit Citroen, if there had been a CX/BX/XM couple it would look something like the SVX. Look at the SM...
Does anyone agree?

There are plenty of people who replaced the auto with a manual from a legacy.
I had a 94 model of these and the gearbox failed twice (on the way to 130K).
Be sure that it is seeping from the rocker covers, iirc the steering rack could have problems and the ps fluid bubbled over onto the exhaust and looked like the rocker cover was leaking.

Love the SVX, not sure if I'd take the risk of buying one unless it was clearly well looked after.
I'm sure it's probably been used in other productions, but my abiding memory of this that comes to mind is as Tim Curry's getaway car in Loaded Weapon...
Mr Jigsaw on the hunt for meecrofilm
On the SVX itself, I'd rather go for a z32 300zx. Granted, it'd be an import if you went for the less complicated NA but I just prefer the Nissan for a number of reasons including superficially

I've always loved those, but never found a bottle of brave pills big enough. But, at £850, do you need brave pills? If it dies just use it as an art exhibit.
That's been done already.I saw one a couple of years ago, in a contemporary art gallery in Yerevan in Armenia.
