Sometimes looks good.

As long as they don't do it all over the windows.

I stuck stickers all over my laptop while travelling to make it less tempting to thieves. I wonder if that is the idea here? Make it look st to keep away prying eyes?

If all the stickers have been collected individually, like one from every place you travel visit, then I think it's an interesting and cool thing to do. If it's a 'sticker bombing' pack, or worse a single vinyl sheet bought from ebay then it's just a bit daft.

Me too. Really smart.

Not a fan of normal stickerbombing. They all use the same stickers and it looks ridiculous on stuff like a standard Bora.

There's someone on here with album/record covers on his Toledo that looks fab too.

Looks great on ratty old electric guitars and skateboards, less so on cars IMHO.

We all used to do this with flyers from raves on our bedroom walls back in the good old days.

Whilst we're on the subject of "explaining" things - can someone explain the above please? I've seen it on about 2 or 3 mashed-up Corsa Bs in the last week, and it looks ridiculous.
There is a theory it's a JDM street racer/drift thing to show lateral G.

I've also read it evolved from some gangster thing involving train handles (which I didn't take seriously either).

Mostly though it's because people have seen it, liked it and copied it. I'm slightly ashamed that while I was competing against Nissans I had a Nissan badge as a trophy hanging from the rear tow eye of my Mazda. I cut it off as soon as I stopped competing in the car because of shame.
I watched some yank street racing 'documentary' on National Geographic the other day, and apparently the stuff hanging from the rear towing eye denotes a 'racer' who is willing to race. People who go to street racing meets without them are regarded as spectators.

Truthful or not - who knows... as for stickerbombing - it looks gash. I'd rather drive a car coated in primer, personally!

I'm all for modified cars but frankly the Stickerbombing trend & hanging things off your tow eye, etc, is just total crap. I've lost count of the number of cars (mainly total heaps) round here covered in this stuff. Some even driven by people who are old enough to know better.

Doing stuff like this is a way to express yourself and demonstrate your artistic aptitudes.

Creative people are able to take any "fad" and turn it into something interesting.

It's just that some people have nothing to express and no artistic aptitudes and neither of these facts seem to hold them back.

It was far cheaper than getting a wing resprayed after I mangled it! Plus, I like it biggrin..

Your dad is going to be pissed off when he sees what you have done to his car!
hehe

Tis mine I'm afraid! good job the rest is in black and white, or you would have seen the actual colour boxedin (see profile as it's too shameful to post wink)

That said he is a loyal steed and I'm proud of all the 155,000 miles he has done! (30k of which I have done)...

Kind of spices up what is an insanely boring vehicle though, don't you think?

I admit I quite like it. I saw a Jetta last week with the wing covered but as mentioned it was done properly, the wing had a texture to it from all the stickers.
Do they clear coat/laquer the wing over the stickers or just leave them as is?

The one I have is lots of different stickers. Mainly A4 sized comic strips or comic posters of some sort. I chose to lacquer mine as I can then polish it which brings the colour out even more.

Some choose not too if they are seeking the more ratty look...

The main reason for doing mine was it was cheaper than painting it. Even if I did paint it, I still have a fked up bonnet and fked up bumper so would be pointless. The Car is a workhorse to get me to and from work and occasionally ferrying the family around biggrin (as well as visiting the odd VW show, of course biggrin)

The mods have made up their minds. They were subtly trying to let you know their opinions on the subject i.e it has no place in modern motoring.

Stickerbomb the rest of the car. It'll probably make ANPR cameras spontaneously combust.

Seems like a good way of hiding rust or panel dents if you have free stickers.
"How are the sills?"
"Oh, there's no rust at all; I just stickerbombed it to look good."
"I didn't ask about rust..."
"Damn!"

There's an idea. Sticker bomb the car with stick-on number plates with non genuine regs on. The ANPR wouldn't know where to look and as long as you're still showing your correct plate amongst the spurious ones it's legal isn't it?

I was staring at the rust on my arches yesterday (if you look hard enough it appears before your eyes) and wondered if it was worth spending money on bodywork. Now I'm thinking sticker bomb/rat look puma as it's mechanically sound.

I'm probably too old though.
