Strange, but this is the last Vauxhall I can remember vaguely liking, I think to my then 8-year old eyes, the wheel arches implied some sort of connection with an Audi Quattro, my then Best Car In The World Ever.

A mate of mine once bought an original one-owner one in better condition than this (albeit higher miles) from an old lady on the Isle of Wight for £275. It was a saloon and metallic hearing aid beige with Werther's Original interior.

What he didn't trash driving like an idiot managed to self-immolate over the 3 or so years he owned it, including most of the ignition wiring melting. The car was last seen heading towards a scrapyard after increasingly desperate and bodgetastic fixes failed to stave off the onset of unroadworthiness.

I saw a grey Nova just like that in Antrim at a car show, in pretty much the same condition. It seemed it was some concourse class winner, perhaps this is the same. If you were buying it for those reasons, then go ahead.

As an everyday run around, probably better looking elsewhere.

Really can't see the appeal of this at all. Never a god car, even when new, and like most Vauxhall product quite incredibly dull.

Love the "daydreamers" comment from the seller as well. Who would possibly daydream about a 1.2L Nova. (Other than Garlick of course) wink

I'd rather a 1.0 4-speed Merit to be honest.

Also, why do people put "no timewasters" in car ads? Do they think that people will say to themselves "hell, I was going to send the guy lots of emails, and maybe even go and suck my teeth a bit and kick the tyres, and afterwards go completely silent, but as it says that, I won't"? Do ads lacking this mantra imply "timewasters especially welcome"?

£400 absolute tops. An uncharming car new, and an uncharming car used.

I really, really like this. Not sure if I have rose-tinted glasses on, but for £1000 this could be the ultimate city runaround...no mods, no add-ons just as Vauxhall intended.

Who needs an ADAM when you can zoom around in this? You've (probably not) been Novataken.
Pah, no!

It needs to be a nice shade of brown wink

I suggest that you seek a further opinion from the experts:-

I was thinking the exact same thing the other day.

"No dreamers/tirekickers/test pilots/timewasters"
"relisted due to timewaster"
"No money, no test drive"

Honestly, those sorts of things put me off looking at a car. Do these people believe that unless they put these down on the ad that they'll forever be pestered by buyers who simply want to rake their car about? Truth is, they just sounds like knobs. Time to crossreference threads methinks.

I agree. Such words put me off viewing, as they make the vendor sound difficult.

In a similar vein, why do people put "car is advertised elsewhere and I reserve the right to remove the auction at any time" ? I mean, who the fk cares? If it sells it sells, if it doesn't it doesn't. What is all this "rights reserving" BS?

The language is needlessly formal, but there is no harm in telling people that an auction might end early, as that might encourage people to bid early rather than wait for the last minutes.

You are probably right, but apparently some people get a buzz out of late bidding in online auctions.
