Most electrical things in Citroens e.g electric armrest (see Xantia thread in Readers Cars).
That vibrating seat bolster nonsense that Citroen played around with a few years back.

They were cool at the time, god knows why.
At the time, it was extremely difficult to make a metal roof for a limo that wasn't creased, so they were fitted with vinyl roofs instead. Much cheaper and didn't warp. Then Joe Public decides he wants a vinyl roof too, and suddenly they are in fashion.
Mark Donohue was charged with racing an AMC car for a few years (Javelin, iirc?) for Roger Penske.

The car was a dog, but one of the things they did to it was race it with a vinyl roof. Reason?

They had been acid dipping the cars (making everything thinner, reducing weight), and had overdone the roof, so it looked awful in paint.

It's in his book.

New Lexus 4th Gen GS has rear wheel counter steer as an option.
I suppose you could say it never did catch on, since it's not a standard feature on the mass market cars.
